  My husband stopped in for a routine grocery run and, like any reasonable human being who doesn't want to be narrated at by a robot for 10 minutes, lowered the volume on the self-checkout machine. Enter: Ian Carman — the self-appointed Beep Police of Food Lion. Ian walked over, cranked the volume back up without a word, freezing my husband's checkout without asking and then stared my husband dead in the eye, and said "don't touch the volume." No explanation. No "hey could you please." Just a flat command delivered to a grown adult like he'd just caught him trying to leave with a cart full of steaks stuffed in his pants. Apparently Ian has multiple registers to monitor and relies on the beeping to ensure no theft is occurring. Ian, my friend — that's what your eyes are for. The self-checkout machine is not a submarine sonar system. The beeps are not load-bearing. You will not lose track of the inventory of the universe if someone turns the volume down while they check out their milk and eggs. We will absolutely continue shopping at this Food Lion. We will absolutely continue lowering the volume on the self-checkout. And we sincerely hope Ian finds peace.... #antibeeprevolution!

  This is my local grocery store and im pleased to say that they are usually in stock with all my needs. I also shop and save here on a daily basis. This location is clean and the employees are professional. No complaints here
