  My first trip to K38 and I couldn’t be more impressed. i ordered takeout and I enjoyed a margarita while waiting. The waitstaff were super friendly and service was excellent. When I got the food home it was still nice and hot. Everything was delicious!

  K38 is a good spot with an enjoyable and laid-back atmosphere. The drinks were really good and refreshing, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the overall vibe. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and everything flowed smoothly throughout the visit. What stood out the most was the ambience, it has a welcoming, casual feel that makes it easy to unwind and stay awhile. If you’re stopping in for drinks or a full meal, it’s a place that delivers a good experience. I will definitely be back.

  This isn’t my final opinion, as there are still more dishes to try in the future. Perhaps there will be significant improvement by then, which could change my overall judgment. Based on what I’ve had today, the food was fairly decent, nothing particularly standout, but it is acceptable. My interaction with the waitress was calm and pleasant. She accommodated my request to move to another table after I mentioned feeling a bit cramped in the corner, which I appreciated.

  I have been going to K38 in Wilmington, NC for years and am thrilled there is one in Raleigh now. This is more than a traditional Mexican restaurant. The Baja feel gives you an island/surfer vibe with a super relaxed atmosphere. The flavors are rich and well blended. My favorite is the Stetson roll with chipotle aioli on the side. The enchiladas barbacoa is also fantastic as well as their street corn. And their Cantinarita is the absolute best margarita I have ever had. It’s great to have this option in a city full of Asian fusion and steak houses. I highly recommend it. Chris greeted us and seated us and was very helpful and friendly. Our waitress ( I can’t remember her name but she has a pit bull 🙂 ) was also great! Friendly and fun and took great care of us without hovering. Go check it out.

  The location and general vibe are great. The food of you're expecting anything close to authentic Mexican food is very lacking. I ordered the blackened quesadilla and it was the most tasteless chicken I ever had. It reminds me of the Taco Bell chicken I that came in a plastic bag you had to boil. I'm not even sure they remembered to add salt let alone any actual spices. The only redeeming part of that they have a large collection of hot sauces you can drown your food in to give it some flavor.
