The white delivery box appeared to have been intentionally left wide open - as if someone had been either tasting or tampering with the contents! Additionally, the black containers with plastic tops could also have easily been compromised during transit. Pei Wei in Brier Creek failed to use any security packaging such as security tape, disposable clamps etc. SECURE PACKAGING is crucial for reducing the risk of food tampering and protecting the food from potential contaminants that could arise from the vehicle or airborne elements due to the driver's smoking, sneezing, coughing, etc. Simply tying a knot on the delivery bag does not meet acceptable standards. To the manager: I urge you to address this issue immediately and invest in reliable food safety delivery packaging and/or revisit the best practice standards for delivered food. The restaurant was clean, the food was hot and fresh and came out quickly. It’s so refreshing to get stellar service these days!! Definitely come try them out!!
