We are always on a search for great fine dining experiences in the greater Raleigh area. For whatever reason the Oak Steakhouse was rather illusive from our search. However, finally had a chance to enjoy this excellent steakhouse over the holidays. The atmosphere is very comfortable, the food excellent and service beyond words. It’s truly a fantastic dining experience with various appetizing approaches to traditional dishes plus delicious prime beef offerings! This will be a mainstay of our list of favorites in moving forward.

It was OK. I wasn’t overwhelmed by the food. I had a NY strip with blue cheese butter, mac & cheese, and an old-fashioned. The drink was a decent pour. The topping on the steak was pretty thick and flavorful but didn’t just quite come off as gourmet. Steak quality was average. I thought the mac & cheese could be a little bit more flavorful. The service is good although it was pretty slow, but everybody was waiting for service and their food. I ate at the bar, and the adjacent customers were pleasant and respectful. I’m not sure if I’m out of touch with recent prices, but I felt the prices were a little high especially for the portion sizes.

My wife and I dined at Oak Steakhouse in Raleigh on New Year’s Eve. The ambience was excellent upscale, energetic, and perfect for ringing in the new year. The music was a highlight, with Motown classics that really set the tone for the evening.
Our server, Zachary, was outstanding attentive, professional, and truly made us feel welcomed. His service was easily the best part of the night.
The food, however, was just okay overall. We started with the Caesar salad, which was not a traditional Caesar at all. It leaned very earthy, which may appeal to some, but it wasn’t what we were expecting. The shrimp cocktail was another surprise it was seasoned with a noticeable spice, which felt unusual for a dish that’s typically more straightforward.
That said, the steaks were cooked perfectly one rare and one medium rare exactly as ordered, and definitely the strongest part of the meal.
Overall, we really enjoyed the ambience, music, and service, even though all of the food didn’t quite match the level we anticipated. It was still a pleasant New Year’s Eve experience.

We went to Oak Steakhouse in Raleigh for a celebratory dinner after getting engaged, and it was genuinely an amazing experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding, the ambiance was warm and upscale without feeling stuffy, and the service was truly top-tier.
A huge shoutout to Jesse, our server — he made the entire night feel special. He was incredibly professional, knowledgeable about the menu, and perfectly attentive without ever being overbearing. His recommendations were spot on, his timing was flawless, and he helped make our engagement celebration feel like a once-in-a-lifetime night.
If you’re looking for a place in Raleigh for a special occasion (or just a phenomenal dinner), I can’t recommend Oak enough — and if you can, ask for Jesse. He elevated the entire experience.

I've been here a half dozen times. Unfortunately tonight was an outlier.
Our waiter, Zach, made numerous rude comments that soured the evening. Two couples split the pork chop (our favorite item) and when he made it to the last couple he sarcastically said "let me guess, you want to split a pork chop."
The pork chop is one of the lower price items on the menu. After good initial service we hardly saw Zach again. He was very busy with the next larger table over who were ordering various bottles of wine. Then when other people brought the food they repeatedly let us know how Zach was one of the best waiters in the house - cool.
Finally when the bill came for $400 Zach reminded me how he threw in a side because we were on the fence about it. Great - I get it, you want us to tip you well. I'm fairly confident Zach wrote us off for being a $400 table instead of a $1,000 table and I don't know if I'll be back.
Props to the kitchen staff because the food was very good.
