We celebrated my birthday with dinner at The Oak last night and enjoyed an exceptional experience from start to finish. Service was a standout. Our server, John, was both attentive and personable, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and warmth. We began with cocktails at the bar; the Wright Flight, a gin creation, is particularly notable and highly recommended for enthusiasts of the spirit. The bone marrow appetizer set an impressive tone for the meal, rich and well-executed. For entrées, my husband opted for the ribeye, which arrived remarkably tender and deeply flavorful. I chose the confit duck—a dish that truly captured the essence of fall, both in presentation and taste. Desserts maintained the high standard. Think Espresso Martinis can’t get any better? Wrong- make it an affogato poured table side and you’ll be in heaven. The peanut butter pie delivered an elevated take on a classic. The evening concluded with a thoughtful touch: miniature banana breads presented alongside the check—an indulgence we savored with coffee the following morning. We left with The Oak now our leading recommendation for dining in Raleigh, and we look forward to returning soon.

We went to Oak Steakhouse to celebrate my wife Brooke’s birthday, and let me just say… if Jesse and Nick ever decide to run for public office, they’ve already got my vote. Our server Jesse was an absolute legend—somehow the perfect mix of professional, hilarious, and psychic. I swear he anticipated what we needed before we even said it. At one point I think he refilled my drink just by sensing my emotional energy levels dropping. And Nick, the manager? This man operates like the CEO of Hospitality. He checked in on us like we were VIPs flown in for a Michelin inspection. He helped make Brooke’s birthday feel genuinely special—thoughtful touches, great timing, and the kind of energy that makes you feel like he actually enjoys his job… which, in restaurants these days, is basically a superpower. The food? Incredible. The service? Elite. The vibes? Immaculate. Brooke had an amazing birthday, and we left already planning our next visit. If you’re looking for a place that treats you like you’re important and feeds you like you’re royalty, Oak Steakhouse—with Jesse and Nick on duty—is the place.

After visiting this restaurant several times it has become a favorite with consistently great food and service. The rolls are a must have and worth the price. Tried various dishes and they have all been great, nothing ever disappointing. The salads come across as a bit different that what you would normally expect, not bad just different which can be good if that is what you are looking for. Drinks are fun and delicious with a good range to choose from. I enjoyed that they shared special zodiac drinks on their social media which weren't on the actual menu but when I asked for it they knew exactly what I was talking about. For desert they have the best chocolate cake EVER, highly recommend!

Saturday night was my fourth visit to Oak Steakhouse in Raleigh. They continue to serve excellent food with the absolute BEST service anyone could ask for. I have a number of food allergies that make it very difficult to go out to eat. The staff at Oak Steakhouse are superb at communicating with me about my allergies and alerting me to anything that might be an issue. They even kept my allergy list on file from my first reservation a year ago and checked to make sure nothing had changed! I feel completely safe eating here, which is a very rare an precious thing indeed. Oh, and whatever you order, save room for dessert!

Worst expensive meal experience we've every had. The server laughed at my wife for confirming the sides she had ordered were her meal (ever heard of a vegetarian?). Even our son noticed the server snickering. The cocktail was like drinking pure pickle juice. The mushrooms were disgusting. The mac & cheese was not warm. The steaks and lighting were the best things about this $350 donation-of-a-dinner. You can't have a steak house without great steak, but you're certainly letting EVERYTHING else slide.
