10 out of 10...Highly recommend. A delightful experience from start to finish. The ambiance was perfect for celebrating our 25th wedding Anniversary. The food was exceptional and the staff was friendly, personalble and attentive. One of our best dining experiences.

I came in with my fiance. The food was decent, but the overall experience didn’t quite match the high prices. Everything felt pretty expensive for what you get, and the tables are placed very close together, which made it feel crowded and a bit uncomfortable. It also took a long time for our food to come out, even though the restaurant wasn’t extremely busy when we first got there. While the place has potential, the pricing, seating layout, and long wait times made it hard to fully enjoy the meal.

O-Ku is a difficult restaurant to review because it is all over the place in terms of atmosphere, service, and food. Our family of 3 had difficulty hearing each other talk due to the loud music. That is a hard no for me at a restaurant. We were seated by a table by the side door, and a cold rush of air blew on us every time the door opened. There is a sign on the door not to use it, but staff used it all night to serve tables outside (lots of heaters). Service was unremarkable for a restaurant with prices in this range. The evening started fine and went downhill as the restaurant filled. For a place that has specific people to run drinks, fill waters, clear tables, etc, we waited lengthy times for dishes (tables were not full), and the wait for our credit card to be returned was absolutely unacceptable. That's poor service. My first drink was delicious - the Sugar and Spice (?) with habenero vodka. Perhaps it was the one not made correctly, but my second tasted like it had half the vodka in it (all fruit puree). Inconsistent bartenders - also unacceptable at a high end place. The food was the only redeeming aspect of our experience. Most of our food was delicious. Until my entrée - the "grilled" yellowtail cheek tobanyaki - arrived. I looked up "tobanyaki," and all accounts were that food was prepared and served on a ceramic dish. The waiter said "good choice" and asked me if I had ever had it. After saying "no," would have been the time to tell me that for O-Ku it means cooking your food yourself on a a cast iron plate over a little flame contraption brought to the table. That aside, I was looking forward to tasting the hamachi kama because my husband had recently had it in Denver and raved over it. The fish on my plate was a pile of what looked like shredded leftovers (versus what all the images on Google look like), and the taste was of the most bland whitefish. I can't be sure it was yellowtail cheek, as it tasted nothing like described online. And, the flame on my DIY cookery blew out when the door opened. So we took the fish home to make fish tacos. To top it all off, I told the waiter it was my husband's birthday, and he did nothing. For a place where people rave about birthdays, what do you think happened? If we return, it will be for happy hour and counter service.

Really good experience, the sushi was fresh and tasty, the server did an amazing job! The desserts had a nice presentation, but the flavor wasn’t the best. Got a 8.5/10
