- CWClaude WrennNov 8, 20253.0i have always had great visits at this store but on October the 12th I was shopping and after using the self checkout while leaving I slipped on some water spots on the floor and fell on my back and hitting my head which knocked me out for a few minutes. The store employees that was standing there when i fell along with a customer helped me to my feet when i came to. By then the manager had gotten to the front where i was laying. He wrote up a report about what happened and sent it to the home office. I ended up going to the hospital the next day and they did a bunch of test on me and thankfully i had no head issues besides just a bump on back of my head and a two day headache. The test results showed i had contusions on my left hip and multiple contusions on my left shoulder and upper left arm plus my right elbow was bleeding when i got to the car and i went to my primary care Doctor a week later and he said that it wasn't the scraps on my elbow that was causing the pain but that i had hit hard enough to cause a deep bone bruise on my elbow which was causing the discomfort. I have been back 4 different times to see why no one has got in touch with me from legal which is where the managers have told me numerous times that has control over the case. I have no problem with the store or those working there but i do have concerns with corporate office because they don't seem to care about me as a customer who has been shopping with them for probably around 40 years or more. As for now i will take my business else where from now own. I have tried to be nice but i guess food lion don't care enough about me to show some concerns toward. Maybe it is time to get a lawyer which i have avoided doing because i like food lion and am not looking to harm them in anyway. It has been almost a month now and i still have a hard time sleeping on my left side because of the pain i am still feeling from the fall.

Today, I even found bugs in a bag of an expensive brand of flour. The cashiers especially the younger ones don’t even respond when you say hello, good morning or thank you. There’s a clear lack of manners and courtesy. The managers really need to provide better customer service training, check the inventory more carefully, and ensure employees are properly trained.
