I had $20 in quarters that I wanted to use to pay for my groceries and the young girl at the register said “that’s weird” and pitched a fit about me paying for my groceries with American money. I couldn’t believe it. She said are you rally Going to make Me count all that as she looked for her manager. So if a person comes in to buy groceries and all they have is $20 in quarters you reject them?

It's a good store with pretty good prices. But it needs to restock Breyer's Oat Milk Ice Cream (which it used to carry) and it needs at least 1 vegan pizza option for those of us with lactose intolerance. Makes me have to go to yet another store to find those things.

The store is clean but the customer service is horrible. The self check out employee with the glasses was extremely rude. The machine seen me reach across the scanner for my phone and flagged it. When she came over I said I didn’t know what happened and all she rudely said was “excuse me” and proceeded to look through my bag. If I was gonna steal it wouldn’t be a $2 can of soup… after she seen everything was in the bag (as I told her from the beginning) she just walked off. No sorry, no small talk to make light of the systems mistake, nothing. Just awkward tension. Then I came back in to purchase a lottery ticket and won. When I turned to the customer service desk the SAME WOMAN came over and said “it’s closed.” I said okay… and proceeded to walk to the next register line to redeem it. That cashier was much nicer and turned around to redeem it for me and the SAME WOMAN rushed back over and said “no it’s all closed down.” I’m not sure what her problem was today or what issue she had with me but it definitely made my shopping experience uncomfortable. I’ll take my money to Harris Teeter or Lowes Foods next time.

I went to food Lion on 15/501 today. I was trying to get some help in the meat department for something they had on sale. They didn't have their sale item in stock. The store manager, shaquina said they can't control what people buy and how could she possibly keep everything in stock. If you're going to have something on sale, you probably should anticipate that the demand it's going to increase. Retail 101. I asked her, since she didn't stock the product that was on sale did she plan on offering a replacement. She said no I'm not just going to give you something different just because we're out of stock. I asked, so how do we proceed. She says well what do you need. I said the item that you are advertising. She said, well you're not getting that so I guess you got to go. I just found her to be extremely rude and had no sense of customer service. She made it seem like it was my fault that she didn't plan properly. It was just interesting, but I suppose that customer service is not that important to her and she doesn't support the Food Lion culture.
