They offer a weekend buffet, which already gives them an edge. Not many Indian spots around Charlotte are still doing buffet, so that’s a big plus if you like trying a little bit of everything.
Atmosphere
The setting felt appropriate and well put together. Clean, simple decor without being overwhelming. The music wasn’t loud, which made it easy to actually enjoy conversation. Comfortable, relaxed vibe overall.
Food
There were more options than most Indian restaurants I’ve visited locally. A strong mix of meat curries and vegetable dishes, plus staples like tandoori chicken and fresh naan. The variety makes it easy to go back for seconds (or thirds) without feeling repetitive.
I tried the gajar halwa for dessert. Personally, it wasn’t for me. It leaned more milky than sweet, and I prefer my desserts to have a stronger sweetness. If you like a lighter, creamier finish, you might enjoy it but I was hoping for something richer and sweeter. Although they had other options you can go with ( I was already full at that time).
Conclusion
Indian restaurants are steadily expanding around Charlotte, and it’s great to see more options, especially ones that still offer buffet service. The food quality and selection are strong, and you’ll definitely get your money’s worth. It is a bit pricey, but with the variety and portions, it balances out.
Overall, a solid spot especially for the buffet. I’d just try a different dessert next time..
We went here tonight and reached 30 minutes before closing. We were unsure if we should dine in since we were so late but the staff was wonderfully welcoming. They were all so nice and polite.
They gave us good recommendations for food and brought stuff out really quickly. We had the anjappar mutton and chicken biryani - which were delicious. We also got the chicken chettinad with the chilli garlic naan - this was simply AMAZING. And we also got the uttapa and masala dosa.
Overall, the food was solid, 10/10. Very authentic and well made. The service was great too.
Definitely coming back here!

Absolutely incredible experience at Anjappar. This was our first time going and we arrived at 9:30, not realizing they were closing at that time. Our host Anthony saw our group of 6 was coming for the first time and welcomed us in even though they were only taking to go orders. We ordered a mixed veg utthapam and mysore masala dosa, and Manoj brought it out immediately with 5 bowls of different chutneys and sambar. When we asked why such big bowls? Manoj answered - so everyone on the table can enjoy and try. The food was so delicious and we all had an amazing time. Would 100% go back and the hospitality was unmatched. Thank you for making our night!!

We were a group of about 7 adults and 3 kids who went for the Sunday buffet lunch and we enjoyed it. The selection of food was wonderful from the various curries, breads, dessert, etc. The only knock would be the space is a bit tight both buffet area wise and seating. Staff was friendly and helpful and we would certainly come back.

We had dinner at Anjappar last night and honestly, it was so good. Everything we ordered was full of flavor and tasted fresh and authentic. The Chicken Andhra had the perfect spice level, the Delhi Kabobs were juicy and flavorful, and the biryani was just amazing , well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly.
What really made the night even better was the service. Chandu took such great care of us. He was warm, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable the entire time without being overbearing.
Such a great dining experience overall. We’ll definitely be coming back!
