  I had a very unpleasant experience at Food Lion today (April 7th around 3:45 PM). While using the self-checkout, the employee ( A female with long DIRTY blonde hair that’s curly/wave in a ponytail ) monitoring the area appeared to be racially profiling me. She asked for my ID regarding an item, and when I explained that the purchase was not for me, her tone became rude and dismissive. She stated that even if my husband was the one purchasing, she still needed to see a valid ID. My husband, who is nearly 40 years old, provided his ID without issue. However, the situation escalated when she unnecessarily inserted herself into our private conversation. We were simply mentioning that we are rarely asked for ID at this location, especially given our age and the fact that we are regular customers. Instead of handling the situation professionally, she interrupted us and offered her own opinion in a way that felt inappropriate and confrontational. Her attitude was overly aggressive and uncalled for. I ultimately had to ask her to step away because her behavior was making the situation worse. This interaction felt disrespectful and uncomfortable, and I hope management addresses how customers are treated, especially when it comes to professionalism and avoiding any form of profiling.

  I love Food Lion smaller towns. The staff there was super friendly and helpful. The store was clean and well stocked.

  Produce selection is consistently sub-par when compared to other stores I have shopped at, so I frequently avoid it unless I absolutely need something (and then hope they have it). My suggestion is that if you need quality produce, shop elsewhere
