  I check the expiration date on every item I pick up at this store. No exceptions. They are terrible to not rotate stock. I bought a bag of shredded cheese on Tuesday, opened it on Wednesday, and found it full of green mold. Now I have to watch every price. I was at the self checkout on Thursday and my pack of hamburger rang up at $15.20 I stared at it a second and was confused. Then I realized it was labeled as sirloin steak. The man beside me had one too. They have rude cashiers, rude managers, and the older heavy set male butcher is a total jerk. We desperately need grocery store competition in Maiden.

  Wow!!! We went to Food Lion to buy 8 hams and 8 $25 gift cards for 8 family’s that we thought could use it, this Christmas season. Talked to the an associate that rudely said no!! When we asked to speak to the manager, she said, I’ll get him up here but he will say no. She was correct when the manager got there. He said we absolutely NO and the minimum purchase was $35. We then offered to buy 8 $35 gift cards and again he said absolutely not and gift cards were excluded. He went on to say they have already gave $10,000 to the soup kitchen this week (not sure how that’s related). We weren’t asking for hand outs we were asking to make a $350 purchase for families that live and support the maiden food lion. This is absolutely a reason to shop somewhere else.
