Why is it that when I finished my shopping on Saturday, at 7:25am, there still was NOT a cashier to ring me up, forcing me to use the self checkout??
First of all, I don't work there, but I do run my own business, and if my guys aren't ready when I open, they not only hear about it from me, but get taken off the schedule if it happens! YOU open at 7am, so at 7am, your cashier, even if it's just one, needs to be ready! And again, I was done at 7:25am, so there REALLY is NO excuse for a cashier not being present!
Now maybe it wasn't your cashier, maybe it's management trying to manage "labor," and I understand that as well, BUT management of labor should NOT come at the expense of the customer! That is unacceptable and unprofessional! If management is scheduling the cashier at exactly 7am, then that is a management issue! You cashier should be scheduled 10 or 15 minutes prior to opening, so he can count his register and be ready at 7am! And again, this was 7:25am when I was done, so THAT is REALLY unacceptable!
This occurred in Saturday, January 24th, and I have been too busy in my business to bring this out, but as you can clearly see, I am upset about it enough that not only did I not forget, but was going to a different grocery chain after this incident! And this was also before the ice and snow storms, so that's not an excuse that can be used!
I love Food Lion, but this incident really was upsetting, and should never have happened this way, and should never happen again!
If you open at a certain hour, you need to be ready for full service at that opening time, period! You will never show up in my business and see that myself and my staff aren't fully ready to go and service whatever needs my customers have!
YOU should do the same!
