I wish I had taken a picture. This restaurant is a bit overpriced for what you get. Lunch “specials” start at like $15 for soup and salad. I ordered the patty melt. It was a thick patty with queso cheese and black Texas toast. My toast was burnt on both sides. They had the audacity to put the darker side on the inside. The outside was literally dark brown and the inside was black! The patty itself was unseasoned. I will say that the rolls were delicious and the fries were hot and crispy.

My party of 6 came in on a Monday afternoon which means traffic was low inside. We ordered appetizers— some sort of mushrooms which were good. We also tried the loaded potato soup which was not good. More like a watery, flavorless substance rather than a soup. Our main complaint comes from our entrees and overall service. Upon entering we were not greeted by the host while taking us to our seats. Our server was similar: no greeting or introduction of themselves and straight to what we would like to order. It’s upsetting when you’re friendly and are not met back with that, especially in customer service facing roles. I’d expected at least a hello and my name is—. When our food arrived, two of our orders of the ribs were very burnt, PLASTIC was found in the side of brussel sprouts ordered, as you’ll see in the photo. I ordered the brisket burger and expected shaved brisket on a bun with onions and cheese, however it came with a patty then a decent amount of brisket on top. It looked promising but unfortunately I found HAIR in my food, which immediately ruined my appetite. This not a good experience. I appreciate the manager for hearing out our concerns and apologizing. I will not be retuning here.(Knightdale, NC)

My wife and I visited this Saltgrass location for dinner, and we left feeling very disappointed. The Food & Service: The food was average—nothing special, just "okay." To make matters worse, the service was quite slow, making for a long and drawn-out experience. The Major Issue: The most frustrating part of the night was the total lack of regard for the guests. While we were still in the middle of eating our entrees, a server began sweeping the carpeted floor right next to our table. She could clearly see us eating, but it didn't seem to matter. Sweeping a carpet is not only loud and distracting, but it’s incredibly unhygienic. Using a broom on carpet kicks dust, hair, and old food particles directly into the air right next to our plates. It felt like they were trying to rush us out or simply didn't care about the quality of our dining environment.

If I'm paying $40 for a steak, baked potato & salad I don't expect a medium rare steak to show up brown like leather when I cut into it. My dates steak was well done & her shrimp was soggy & cold. I get better cooked steaks & faster service at chain restaurants. To be a steakhouse & not be able to cook a steak correctly is not acceptable to us & will never go back. Salad is lettuce, cheese & croutons- i almost forgot dressing- literally nothing else. Go to another restaurant for a shorter wait, better food & prices!

We visited Saltgrass today and unfortunately had the worst service we’ve experienced in the four years we’ve been dining here. Our server, Shaniyah, provided very poor service from start to finish. To begin, when our salads were delivered, we were not asked if we wanted black pepper, which is standard. When our entrées arrived, she served dessert to a table behind us before passing us our hot food, which was confusing, as hot meals should be prioritized. Once our food arrived, we realized the entire order was incorrect. At that point, I had to get up and locate a manager myself. Heather, the manager, was professional, attentive, and quickly worked to correct the issue. What is most concerning is that after management intervened, our server never returned to the table, no follow-up, no check-in, no attempt to recover the experience, despite clearly being aware that a manager was involved. That level of disengagement reflects a serious lack of accountability. We expect better from an establishment we’ve supported for years. While management handled the issue appropriately, this experience highlights the need for improved training, supervision, and accountability for front-of-house staff.
