  I think I found a total diamond in the rough! Puerto Escondido in Kenansville is widely known as one of those "if you know, you know" spots—especially if you're craving authentic Mexican food that hasn't been "sanitized" for a chain-restaurant menu. We ordered take out and the drive through window made it super convenient. The portions were great and flavors that are great. We are new to the area but I believe we've found our go to for Mexican food. I saw people complain about the automatic tip. That's not the establishments problem. That's in your control just hit custom tip and put in whatever you want. Wasn't an issue for me.

  Delicious food, attentive wait staff. We had a party of 8, including two four year olds. They quickly put a table together for us and took our order. They were quick to take our order and served the kids first which is always a plus. The chips and salsa were plentiful. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We appreciate that they were so accommodating of us and our restless kiddos.

  The atmosphere was great and the vibe was good too but when we say at the bar it took like 10 min before we asked someone how to order a drink. None of the servers asked us. When we placed our order the bartender waited until another bartender came to tell her to make it. Mind you it was just a Jim Beam and coke. Easy drink. We ordered chips and queso which was good. When we asked for the check so we could leave one person asked who our server was, we were never told her name so we didn't know who but tried to describe her. After about 10 min we got our check and left. I think the place is new so maybe they are still learning or in training. I'll have to go back and see how it is later and I'll update if there's any changes.

  Prices have gone up, they’ll probably continue to go up. A few months ago vs now at least the rice and beans are the same but $18 for fajitas is just not acceptable, haven’t been back since they bummed the prices up.

  Puerto Escondido in Kenansville, NC is a great place to eat! The food is always fresh and full of flavor—especially the ACS meal with steak, rice, and queso dip, which is absolutely delicious. The service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed and satisfying meal. Highly recommend!
