I got a text that Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken was testing out breakfast, and that was all the excuse I needed. I’ve had their chicken before and already knew they don’t mess around—combine that with breakfast and I’m in.
I went with the chicken, egg, and cheese bowl plus a funnel waffle on the side (basically a funnel cake disguised as a waffle, which is exactly as good as it sounds).
Everything hit. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside—no dryness, no overcooking. The eggs were scrambled right in that sweet spot, not runny but not stiff either. The hashbrowns actually tasted like they came out of clean, fresh oil, which sounds like a small thing until you realize how often that’s not the case.
The chicken itself wasn’t spicy by default, which I actually appreciated—it let me build the heat how I wanted with the hot sauce and jalapeños they included. Definitely took advantage of that.
I also chatted with Carlos, who mentioned this was day one of breakfast. Honestly, I hope it sticks. There aren’t many solid breakfast spots around here, and this feels like something that could easily become a regular stop.

I don't do many reviews, and when I went into Hangry Joe's for something quick, I surely did not think I would break my pattern. But then I met Carlos and he gave me one of the best 1st experiences of a restaurant I ever had. It is evident Carlos takes pride in this business, and his description of the product makes you want to order everything on the menu. But more than his description of the rubs and sauces, the sides and shakes, the taste and quality of these things are evident from the first bite and sip. The real tasting chicken is bigger than most, yet knowing it is Halal reassures you that the good size is natural and not due to hormones and other chemicals. It's great food at a reasonable price. I can't wait to return.

The sando has a piece of chicken twice the size of the bun. Can't go wrong with that! I got medium heat and it was plenty hot. For those of you who love it really hot there 2 levels above medium. I'm just not brave enough to try them. Fries were awesome!

My son and I stopped in for lunch today and had a great experience. The food was good, but the service is really what stood out. Carlos gave us a great explanation of the menu and even asked if it was our first time in. I found this spot on Google Maps and the 4.6 rating is definitely earned and well deserved. I’ll be back for the food, but overwhelmingly because the staff was so friendly.
The food was underwhelming. I got the mild for my spice level and it was plain, my partner got medium and it was only partially coated with the spice. I won't be returning, it's not worth it for the price point.
