  We ate dinner there after a long day at the Mt. Olive Pickle Festival. Carrie Ann and Melissa, the bartenders were great. Friendly and took time to talk to you. The food was good and fresh and live music was a great way to end our long day. Would definitely recommend!! I loved the Lotus Fried Rice

  Jeff was an outstanding waiter at the Laughing Owl restaurant! He offered fantastic recommendations and spoke about the dishes with such flair. He remembered our names and had a warm, friendly demeanor. I would have loved to share the meal with him!

  I will NEVER give my business to Laughing Owl Goldsboro NC. I placed a phone order and when I showed up it was not submitted to the kitchen. The manager and the lady ran around for another 5 minutes trying to find an order that was not properly processed. I drove 15 minutes, wasted gas and time to get lunch that was never available for me. Maybe it's the hunger I feel right now, but I have never submitted a bad review. But, the non chalant attitude I cannot.

  This loved downtown favorite has so much potential. The crab Rangoons were 5 stars, service was excellent, quirky but polished decor.. the menu needs help. The food was a low point. My friends moderately enjoyed the classic pad Thai but after trying a bite it tasted like everything else in the fridge it had been stored in. Photos on the menu, kind of a red flag. I buckled down on the Rockefeller oysters, one of my favorite dishes, fully prepared for food poisoning- all in the name of discovery. If they’re ballsy enough to sell oysters in Goldsboro surely I can give it a chance. It wasn’t even the oysters themselves.. but the cheese on top tasted like it had gone bad. Like as I chewed, part of me expected Gordon Ramsey to appear from the kitchen telling everyone to stop eating after finding atrocities in the back. No saltines available. To top it off, after telling them the cheese had gone bad and not eating more than one- still full charge. Wonton soup was below average. Otherwise drinks were great, well decorated and nice live music, but probably won’t be back unless there’s a major menu overhaul.

  An interesting fusion cuisine with amazing staff, I would highly recommend the Laughing Owl. Ask for Jeff and try the curry.
