  Service was much slower than usual as a result of a scale being used for every entrée during lunch hours. This makes sense during none peak hours to establish consistency but if there's that much concern around portions, using portions sized scoops would be a much more effective approach to avoid people from standing in line 10 minutes to order.

  Chipotle FRESH Mexican Grill People come here for fresh, as advertised This establishment opened at 10:45 am today, 01/09/25. I came by around 11:45, placed an order, and picked up When opening up to eat, the avocado was already dark green, oxidized, mostly sour, and ultimately resulted in throwing away half of two orders as it tasted progressively horrible Shortly after, experiencing a near Taco Bell after effect I’m assuming this is a day+ old avocado, as avocado doesn’t darken after 1 hour of being made Fresh… is false advertisement. This should either be fixed via process or fresh should be removed from the sign

  This place whipped out the scale! As someone who travels for a living. It’s hit or miss with each location regarding portion control. This location was the absolute worst. I’m 105lbs, and generally eat twice a day. I left here starving.

  ⭐ 1 Star This Chipotle location on Franklin Blvd in Gastonia is beyond frustrating and continues to get worse every month. When I visited, the rice cooker was broken, and instead of handling the situation professionally, customers were punished for the restaurant’s equipment failure. We were told we could only receive a tiny spoonful of rice for bowls and were not allowed to pay for extra rice. Charging full price while giving half portions is unacceptable. The employee at the beginning of the line flat-out refused to give rice unless customers accepted the very small spoonful she was offering. Another employee on the line even made the comment that “a half spoon is better than no rice,” which was incredibly ignorant and unprofessional for someone working in customer service. If a core piece of equipment is broken, management should have prepared in advance or temporarily closed until it was fixed. Giving customers less food while charging full price is not okay. This location constantly runs out of items and skimps on portions, yet still expects customers to pay full price. I’ve spent enough money here to know this isn’t a one-time issue. I will never return to this location. Chipotle Gastonia, DO BETTER. Customers should not suffer for poor management and operational issues. This was handled terribly.

  On 12/13/2025 at approximately 6:30 PM, I placed and PAID for an online order at this location and arrived to pick it up, only to be told the system was “down” and my order would not be honored. That explanation is unacceptable. When a business accepts payment, it is obligated to provide the product or a legitimate resolution. A system failure is an internal issue and does not justify refusing service to a paying customer. The manager’s response made this situation significantly worse. There was no apology, no effort to troubleshoot, no alternative offered, and no accountability taken. The interaction was dismissive and unprofessional, as though expecting to receive food that had already been paid for was unreasonable. This experience highlights a serious lack of leadership, training, and customer service standards at this location. Refusing to fulfill a prepaid order without offering any solution reflects extremely poor management and operational practices. I wasted time and money here. I strongly advise others to avoid placing online orders at this location, and corporate leadership should review how this store is being managed.
