When I say that food was banging, it was banging! I had the Oxtail special and it was SO GOOD! The oxtails were meaty and tender. They gravy was good, the cabbage/collards were good and the mac and cheese. You can tell somebody grandmother taught them how to cook! Can't wait to go back and try the other dishes! I want some chicken and dumplings, the hamburger steak, the shrimp, I just want to try the whole menu! Sides included!

The greens and cabbage mix was bomb and great tasting cornbread. The lemonade is great. Everything else I would say it was ok. Mac n cheese, sweet potato, rice and gravy and I had the hamburger steak it was all just ok nothing I would brag about. Overall food was just ok.

My friend and I had lunch upon recommendation and it was not good. I ordered the hamburger steak with rice and gravy and it came out like soy based meat they serve prisoners. Very salty gravy and small portions. I’m actually glad they were small. The turkey collards were decent but again, not enough. My boy got the chicken & dumplings but said it was more like under seasoned chicken and noodles. He also got green beans and corn/limas and said both were sweet. We’re all about supporting black businesses and really wanted this place to be good but on this day, it wasn’t.

Took 10 min to order with just a person in front of me at the walk up window and it took another 45 min to get an order of wings. Only to be told they ran out of wing after 45 minutes of being told repeatedly that my food was being made. It’s beyond unprofessional it’s a lack of caring and treating customers like just another transaction. This place is only open because it’s be central University that’s it, kids are keeping it up float. I will never comeback or recommend this garbage
