If you are into very loud music with stage lights flashing all around you, like a night club, this may be for you.....but is not what I wanted or expected from a restaurant while I tried to enjoy a meal. The food itself was also just ok, it isn't the Mexican food one is to expect from a typical Mexican resturaunt and maybe thet is what they are trying to do?, not be a typical Mexican resturaunt?, IDK it just did not do anything for me, not much flavor, the dish was not hot enough, the queso or melted cheese is not what one is to expect either, very bland. The best thing we had was the salsa, very cilantro forward and delicious, unfortunately the chip were incredibly salty, very salty and we could not enjoy the salsa because of that. Overall, a bad experience.
Our server Luis was absolutely charming and exceedingly accommodating! My husband is in a wheelchair & Luis met us at the door, helped us to a table, & helped transfer my husband to a regular (and very comfortable, I might add) chair. It was lunch time and there were just a few patrons in this very large space, so we had Luis’s almost undivided attention. He was happy to answer questions we had about the restaurant, since we had never been there. I loved the atmosphere- large open space, beautiful floral murals on the walls. Upbeat Latino music was playing softly in the background. This was exactly the kind of mellow, relaxing air I needed after a harried morning of caregiving! Luis shared that on weekend nights, the place turns into a party and a show, which I would also love to experience! The menu had many choices which made it a little difficult to make a decision! My husband & I split chicken fajitas & a house margarita. Lunch came out beautifully arranged on two plates; fajitas were nice & hot & very tasty. Margarita was ok, not the best I’ve had. Decided to try, at Luis’s recommendation, the Strawberry Tres Leches for dessert. It absolutely melted in my mouth! As we left, Luis insisted on taking my wheelchaired husband to the car (he was able to do so because they were not terribly busy at the time, but he certainly didn’t have to go that far out of his way!) People, this really is gold star service and it’s what makes people come back. I certainly wouldn’t expect the same attention when they are busy, but Luis definitely made a tired, older woman’s day!

Much better food options in Durham. The chips and salsa were good and their drink menu is creative. The fajitas didn’t come out sizzling and both of our meals were underwhelming for the price point. I requested a side of beans instead of the rice. When the food came, it came with rice. I requested the beans. No big deal. Then when the bill came both of our meals were up-charged for shrimp by $2.00 when the price on the menu clearly reflected something else for both dishes. Then we were also charged for the beans, even though our server said they could substitute them for rice. On top of that, there was a surcharge for using a credit card. Definitely check your bill because there are shady add-ons. With two meals and two drinks our bill was $80.

The food and atmosphere was good but the service was so so so bad. I don’t think we ever had a server assigned to us and it took over an hour to get our food. When the food did come out stuff was incorrect, such as no tortillas with fajitas. When we asked the server looked annoyed and said it didn’t come with it , we checked the menu and it does. All of that and I still probably wouldn’t be writing this review except they then stole from us. They applied a 18% auto grat on a $90 order for a party of 3, which while strange we always tip well and would have left it at that except when we asked if the gratuity was included they lied and said no so we tipped on top of that (we never saw an itemized receipt). It wasn’t until we left that I did the math and realized that was not true. This is extremely unethical.
