  I just moved to the area and have been to this store a few times. The interaction I just witnessed prompted me to write this. Behind me in the checkout there was a gentleman who spoke only Spanish - there was an error on his WIC card. The blonde white female manager (in her 50-60s) proceeded to be absolutely rude and degrading to this man. He even attempted to use Google translate to help the barrier between them and she rolled her eyes. I work in customer service and deal with international clients daily….you treat people with respect. This lady needs a Customer Relationship Training Course.

  I tend to use this store only as a last resort due to consistently poor customer service. On multiple visits, cashiers have made no effort to greet customers upon entry, which creates an unwelcoming atmosphere. During my most recent visit, I required assistance at the self-checkout when the light signaled for help. The attendant acknowledged the light but did not come over immediately and instead stated loudly to another cashier, "I’m about to go home." When she eventually assisted me, she said, "I don't really care because I'm about to leave," before entering the code needed to complete my transaction. While I would like to believe this was an isolated incident, this same unprofessional attitude has been consistent during previous visits.Because the self-checkout attendant is often the main point of interaction for customers, this behavior reflects poorly on the store as a whole.I hope management will address this issue and provide additional customer service training so that all customers feel respected and welcomed.

  I am a native of this city, I grew up in this neighborhood, and I have been a loyal, valued customer of this specific Food Lion for over 30 years. While the cashiers and floor staff are fantastic—professional, kind, and the reason I’ve stayed loyal for three decades—the security presence in the parking lot has become a disgrace and a legal liability. Nearly every time I walk through the parking lot after hours—whether I’m heading to work or the 24-hour store—I am met with unprovoked hostility and threats of police intervention. I don’t even entertain or engage with these guards; I mind my own business and keep walking, yet they consistently target me with threats. Management needs to be reminded that communicating threats is a crime in itself. Using law enforcement as a tool of intimidation against a law-abiding professional and lifelong resident is a massive overreach. It is insulting and embarrassing to be treated like a criminal in the same neighborhood I helped build. Because of this constant harassment, I, my family, and my business associates are officially taking our business elsewhere. It’s a shame that 30 years of loyalty is being thrown away because of an aggressive security team that doesn't know how to treat the community. Retrain your security immediately.
