The food is good, but they close a half hour before their stated closing time. Got there at 2:20 and they said they weren't accepting any more people.
They're empty during the week at night weirdly, then again I don't think fighting waffle house for 8pm waffles is a good idea so what do I know?

I have really enjoyed my food at Dames. I initially had a hard time finding the restaurant but that does not take away from my experience.
I was greeted and seated immediately upon arrival by the pleasant server. I ordered the oatmeal vegan waffle with 3 wings (well done) and squash/onions as a side. My food is absolutely delectable! I requested my waffle and wings be cooked a little longer and the kitchen did just that, pure perfection! I am so happy I supported and I am already looking forward to my next visit.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had. After we sat there for 30 minutes with no acknowledgement. When she did come to take our order, it took another 45 minutes to get it and it was wrong. Then when asked for the manager, it took him forever, needless to say we left without eating. But the appearance wasn't very appetizing anyway. I will not listen to internet reviews again. Just because it say soul food doesn't mean it's real soul food and authentic or good.

OMG the chicken & waffles were amazing! We also did a side of cheesy mac that was delicious. We split an order of shrimp & grits which was not as hot, but still tasty. Service isn’t the fastest but I see why. The food was 100% worth the wait! We will be back every time we come in town!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was unacceptable.
My family and I traveled over 3.5 hours on a Sunday specifically to come here for brunch. When we arrived, the hostess informed us they were no longer seating guests. I politely asked if we could place a to-go order, especially considering we had driven so far and they still had about an hour until closing. Instead of showing any understanding or trying to help, she responded with a smirk and simply said no.
The lack of basic customer service and courtesy was extremely disappointing. I have visited several of this restaurant’s locations over the years and have always been a loyal customer when I’m in town, which made this experience even more frustrating.
To make matters worse, the atmosphere inside was very loud and chaotic, which only added to the unpleasant experience.
After traveling that far and being treated so dismissively, I can honestly say this visit changed my opinion of this place. Unfortunately, because of how we were treated, I will not be returning, and I think others should be aware before making the trip.
