I was saddened to see the changes at the Concord location. The fajitas used to be a go-to, but the current version is missing the peppers, leaving the dish tasting flat and uninspired. Serving just chicken and onions feels like a major step backward. I’m starting to understand why so many other locations have struggled lately. If you’re looking for authentic, flavorful fajitas, this might not be the spot anymore.

My Empanadas were good. I'm not partial to ground beef unless it's in a burger, but they were very tasty and enjoyable. The meal (appetizer, to be fair) could have come with a bit more queso though. Now for my wife's chicken fajitas meal. It came without peppers, which we were told is the norm there now. Seriously? That's like pizza without cheese man! The onions were still half raw and the chicken ..... Was thick and grilled whole, and then sliced over the skillet afterwards. It was tasteless, colorless, and about as close to boiled chicken as you can get. Not even a hint of char on it, likely due to being grilled whole. It was absolutely flavorless, I can't stress this enough. Fajitas, it was not! Oh and the best part? There was chicken skin, which we were also told is normal now. We had not been to On the Border in a very long time (years, in fact) because of its downhill slide, but decided to give it another go. This was the worst we have seen, by far. Although you may not be able to tell from this review, my wife and I are pretty easy to please. However this was absolutely horrible. I don't know who is making decisions on the menu or how things are done, but if this comes from corporate, you might want to get someone else in charge. Chefs at any level should be embarrassed to serve this junk to customers.

They did not drain the grease out from the ground beef that was in my taco. They actually brought me a plate full of grease. So I told the waiter which was kind about it and I decided to get the steak tacos instead. Ive came here before and it was not such a great experience 😕 so I thought maybe giving it another try. But I think I'll go elsewhere before I think of coming back.

Bring back the old Mexican rice with corn and the old chips! My family has been coming to this location for over 20 years and you are going to lose customers by getting rid of what made this restaurant great! Other changes like the chicken quesadilla are good tho! And don’t touch the salsa recipe!!

So I’ll go in March 3 2026 for Carry out I had to wait 30 minutes for my food so I asked for a manager the mandarin came out. His name was Jeff. He said what can I do to make it better for you? I said put my money back on my card so he said OK. He supposed to put $14 back on my card day three I ain’t get no money back on my card so I’ll call looked down and speak to a manager. He said well let me take care of for you day five ain’t nothing so I called Jeff back He said Miss Dawkins I’m a see you a $50 gift card Jeff said sorry what can I do to make it better? He said Ms .Dawkins never got it. It’s going on two weeks in three days never got my money never got my $50 gift card. Jeff is a liar, but the food was good. I don’t appreciate just lying to me like that so I’ll call him today and ask him can I speak to his boss? Can I get Corporate phone number? Guess what he told me he can’t do that so I’m gonna let Corporate know what’s going on. Thanks
