Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
While many customers praised the taste and freshness of the food, there were significant complaints about incorrect orders and food quality, including overcooked items and missing ingredients.
Service Speed
Numerous reviews highlighted slow service, with long wait times in both drive-thru and dine-in, often exceeding 30 minutes, leading to frustration among customers.
Staff Performance
Customer service experiences varied widely; some staff were noted for their friendliness and helpfulness, while others were criticized for poor communication and attention to detail.
Cleanliness and Atmosphere
The restaurant's cleanliness received mixed reviews, with some customers appreciating the clean environment while others reported issues with trash and overall disorganization.

NEVER AGAIN. This is the second time I’ve been and the story is almost exactly the same for both visits. I gave them a second chance because the burger is pretty good when they finally get the order right. I was on the way home and decided to go to the drive through. Placed my order and pulled around. Sat there for 15ish minutes and watched order and order in front of me sent back. Finally I’m first in line and a girl comes out to take my payment and asks for my name. Gave her my name but told her they never asked for it before and sure enough, my order wasn’t in the system. So she takes my order again and I was very clear on what I wanted. Finally my order is brought to me. I pull around and check and it’s not even close to what I ordered. Check the receipt and it’s not even close to what I told the girl. I park, get my baby out of the vehicle and go inside. Told the lady at the front that my order wasn’t wrong and give her the correct order. She goes to the kitchen and tells them the order is wrong and the employees start yelling like it was my fault. I can hear them yelling about me as they are only ten feet away from me. My order comes back out so I go back to my vehicle thinking it has to be right this time. Nope. I take my baby out AGAIN and walk back in. Lady at the front yells “you have got to be freaking kidding me” almost as if it’s my fault again. She grabs a manager and I explain that this is the second time I’ve had to get my baby out of the truck and come inside and he says he will personally make the burger. Employees in the back were yelling at each other again because they heard the same order was wrong again. The entire thing took me about 40 minutes which is absolutely absurd for a “fast food” burger place. Like I said, second time there and almost identical stories. Never putting myself through that again. Just ridiculous.

My experience here wasn’t bad but it wasn’t what it could’ve been. I ordered breakfast and the sandwich was good and fresh, I got the sausage bob. The hash brown sticks were either old and were redropped or the grease was old, either way they weren’t good. Lastly I pulled up to the drive thru to order. Once I was greeted the cashier informed me they were having trouble with the POS and they couldn’t take any orders, so I told her I had a mobile order, which I placed right after I drove up. The wait was pretty long for the amount of cars that were in line. I waited about 15 minutes for my food.

They make pretty good burgers but wow this place started of okay and it's just getting worse. Out of the 10 times iv been maybe 3 have been okay besides that they always take forever and never even have someone at the front to take orders. Management must be horrible if this is what they allow . I had a 5 star on here and have given them them chance after chance but wow Everytime I come there's one issue or another . Hate to sound like a Karen but it's true . I order online and wait a while before leaving my house in hopes of not having to wait long . It said my order would be ready 15 9:50 and I'm standing in line last 1030 and no one is taking order and we have others waiting and no one is getting there food. Why even say my food is ready at 950 knowing it's not. Everytime I go there's people bothered about the same thing Everytime. I can see some of the employees are actually busting there butt while others just stand around forget everything your drink your shake. Constantly need to remind them. I won't blame the employees I'm sure a lot is also lack of management and maybe not enough employees at times. Even if I come at 7 am or 8 u will wait about 15 min for your food

I heard a lot of negative reviews from friends who've gone through the drive-thru, so I thought I'd give them a shot, but go inside to order and eat. We had a great experience! I thought the food was great. I always special order my burger, and it came out exactly the way I wanted it. The fries were very tasty. Sweet tea was very good (like their ice). The Dr. Pepper milkshake was awesome! It's a new establishment, so everything was still very nice and clean. Restrooms were clean. The counter girl was very friendly & polite. They bring the food to your table. They had an employee walking around with a condiments tray, which was nice. The manager came around asking us "Is everything Ok?" "Do you need anything". Overall a very nice experience. We'll be back.

I have been a die-hard Whataburger fan for years. I was literally in line on opening day for this location, cheering at the ribbon-cutting. But after my experience today (9:30 AM), I am seriously reconsidering if I’ll ever step foot in this establishment again. To say the service was "atrocious" is an understatement; it was a masterclass in management failure.
I arrived to find a group of customers ignored at the counter. I spent 10 minutes fighting with a malfunctioning kiosk because no staff would acknowledge us. It took a frustrated food-delivery app driver literally yelling for attention before any employee emerged from the back to address the growing line. I didn't even get to place my order until 9:54 AM—nearly 25 minutes after walking in. Despite ordering "Dine-In," my food was shoved into a to-go bag. Worse, my hash browns were missing. When I pointed this out, I was told they were "coming right out." 15 minutes later—now nearly an hour into this ordeal—I still had no hash browns. I stood at the counter for 3 minutes being actively ignored by staff members who were chatting with each other and walking right past me. One staff member asked what I needed, then seemingly forgot I existed the moment she stepped into the kitchen. It finally took someone who appeared to be the manager to walk over, ask if I needed help, and bag the hash browns that had apparently been sitting there.
I am a patient person, but I have NEVER waited this long for a simple fast-food order in my life. This wasn't just a "busy morning"; it was a total lack of leadership and basic customer service etiquette. Whataburger Corporate and the General Manager, Anthony Moss, need to get this store in check immediately. You are alienating your most loyal local supporters.
