Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Customers consistently reported extremely long wait times, often exceeding 30 minutes in the drive-thru, with some waiting over an hour.

Many reviews highlighted issues with incorrect orders, including missing items and wrong modifications, leading to customer frustration.

Cleanliness and Organization

First time here. My good came out hot and fresh. That already beats McDonald’s, Burger King and other fast food spots. The fries have actual salt on them. Burger is really good. I had the double burger combo. Everything is fresh. The only downsides I notice is the building is too small, also when the entrance door is open, there is a wind pull from the inside. I do like the food as long as it stays consistent. This is a new food spot and I had to check it out. Definitely will check back soon. Yes building is small but unlike McDonald’s and other fast food spots, Whataburger is packed with customers. And I will be a returning customer. Big draw back is when leaving, you must go through the drive thru to get out of parking lot. This is a deal breaker. They didn’t think when making this location.

a neighbor invited me to go get a burger with her, she had fond memories of Whataburger from Texas and wanted to see how this new location compared. We went at one pm on a Sunday. That is not the best time to go here ! The church crowd knows about this place. When we got there, the entire lobby was full of people with numbers in their hands, every table was taken, basically a line out the door. We stayed, ordered, got very lucky when a couple young females let us have their table and we waited. The wait was not bad, we heard our number called and our food was brought to our table. We both got the Whataburger combo and enjoyed the meal. Sweet tea was good as well. My neighbor and I both thought that it would have been nice if they had a few outside tables. I was extremely impressed with the staff and the way they handled that many people at one time ! They handled everything very well. I would defiantly go back, but not at that time on a Sunday..lol

I visited this location this morning around 9:30am. There were maybe two cars in the parking lot and none in the drive thru. I entered the outside lane of the drive thru and and stopped at the menu board. I sat there for more than 3 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge me and take my order. I assumed something must be wrong with their communication equipment and pulled up to the drive thru window. I sat there for approximately two minutes. No one came to the window and i never saw anyone inside at the window. I then left the drive thru window and drove back around to the "inside" lane of the drive thru. I say there for about a minute, again, with no acknowledgement! So I began talking and asking if anyone was there. After about 15 seconds someone finally answered me. I placed my order (sausage and egg breakfast burrito combo with a medium black coffee and a honey butter chicken biscuit with a diet coke) and pulled around to the window. Once at the window the cashier held the card machine "on a stick" out the window at me rather than take my card. I did my part and paid for the order. The cashier then provided me with the diet coke and said she was going to get my coffee and would be right back. SEVERAL minutes later another cashier came to the window and gave me the bag with the food. I looked in the bag and, of course, there were no napkins. Once I was able to get her attention again I asked for some napkins which she provided. I then requested some salsa for the burrito. She looked at me like I asked for allen blood and just shook her head back and forth as if to say "no". I said, you don't have salsa? Then she looked down, grabbed two packets of something and handed it to me. I then left extremely irritated. A few miles down the road my wife looks at me and says, they didn't give you your coffee! I was so irritated when I left the drive thru that i didn't realize the first cashier never returned with my coffee! I didn't have time to go back. I them took my burrito or of the bag. As I unwrapped the foil holding the burrito, sausage and scrambled egg poured out onto my lap and my seat and the floor. Whoever made the burrito had folded it like a taco and wrapped it in the foil. So when I owned it and entire contents poured out. Now, not only was i in a hurry but I had to make an extra stop at a car wash to vacuum my seat and floor. This was my first visit to the new Whataburger in Mint Hill, NC. I think the best part of this Whataburger was left in Texas.

First time visiting a Whataburger since 2018. Didn’t expect amazing food from a fast food place but thought I’d give it a try. I figured it would be busy for a while after opening but I didn’t expect to sit in like for almost an hour before I got my food.
I sat in the drive through for over 20 minutes before I ordered because one lane used the speaker and one used a person with a tablet. I was in the second one and that line was extremely backed up. The employees seemed to get the order wrong for the first few cars in front of me since they had to return multiple times with different bags.
When I got my food it was warm but that was about all that was good. The fries had a very potato chip ish flavor. Not like regular french fries. The soda I got tasted like the syrup mix was off, like it was a little bit of soda then all water. It tasted like a flat splash of coke in carbonated water.
The burger was the only redeemable thing about it. It was greasy and I could tell from just the wrapper. The burger had a good taste to it and wasn’t sloppy.
If I end up going I’ll probably only end up getting a burger and only if the lines don’t seem packed. I could have gone to the McDonald’s across the street and gotten a meal for the same price in a third of the time and already eaten it by the time I even got my bag at this place.

Dined in at 8:30pm on a weekday night. Ordered at the kiosk after downloading the app. The app does nothing to "check you in" or anything like McDonalds app. Oh well.
Ordered a double cheeseburger meal and the buffalo ranch chicken strip sandwich (also fries and drink). Was $24+ after tax. The food took longer to come out than expected with the amount of workers scurrying around in there. Too many high school kid staff trying to socialize and flirt with each other in-between completing work tasks. The burger was okay, the patties weren't hot and weren't fresh....... and taste exactly like Sonic Drive In (which I like). Decent taste, poor execution. They screwed up and put lettuce on the burger when I asked for none. Picking it off took all the mayo with it. Would have been a great burger if the patties were hot and juicy. The chicken sandwich was mediocre. Chicken sandwiches that consist of multiple strips......very lame. You're often left with bites consisting of empty bun cavities of nothing between the strips. Got it on brioche bun. The bun was either very stale or "toasted" however the menu mentioned nothing of brioche buns defaulting to being toasted. Regardless.....total trash...and not up to temp....not warm/hot enough to have been recently toasted and certainly not buttered. Lastly the fries; they were salted nicely and taste great....but most of them were the small 2 inch slivers that are impossible to dip into the dip cups. The spicy ketchup was nice. Got a "gravy cup" on the side to dip my fries into. It lacked salty umami flavor and was fairly watery. Pass.
I was so excited for this place to open, I've been patiently waiting for the hype to subside so I can visit and not wait forever. Tonight there were only 2 other tables dining in with me and 3 cars in the drive thru....and my food still took forever and it wasn't NEAR fresh enough to be enjoyable or worth $24. If I wanted to spend big bucks on cold hamburgers I'd just goto the new Wendy's down the road closer to me. Get a clue Whataburger or you'll be gone sooner than later.
