About

RestaurantCocktail Lounge
The Cellar at Duckworth's combines gastropub fare from our chef-driven menu, with a tap list of specialty and rare beers served at appropriate temperatures to their styles, and signature cocktails that are handcrafted to order by our mixologists. Inspired by an era of time that's long past, the underground space built originally in 1912, naturally has a speakeasy-prohibition-era feel with its original brick walls and exposed ceiling joists. Even our attentive staff dresses the part from the era. We hope to take you back in time for a bit while enjoying good food and drink with friends and family.

This meal was incredible. From the service to the food, every step of our visit was exquisite! Andy was one of the kindest bartenders we’ve had during our visit to Charolette. The drinks— phenomenal, the food— superb, the cheesecake— to die for. Can’t wait to come back next time we are in town.

By far my favorite restaurant in the area. I have been to this location countless times over the past 3 years. Each visit has been just as good, if not better than the last. The food, staff, and overall experience are nothing short of exceptional. I've never waited more than 10 minutes tops for a table or seat at the bar. (I usually avoid dining out on weekends). The standard is set and consistent whether seated at the bar or at a table. I've worked in the industry for over 15 years and frequent this location knowing that every penny and moment spent here is beyond worth it. You will not be disappointed! Thank you to the management team and the entire staff for the unforgettable dining experience and memories made in your place of business. I can't wait to return!

I visited The Cellar at Duckworth’s on a Thursday night with a friend for a special farewell dinner before she left Charlotte for the new year. Although we had a bit of a wait due to a slow kitchen, the manager made sure we were comfortable by bringing our drinks promptly. After about 15-20 minutes, our server arrived and took our order. We enjoyed delicious dishes including mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, and risotto, all of which were fantastic. For the main course, we both had the short ribs with cheddar grits and a vegetable medley that included roasted asparagus. Every bite was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious! For dessert, we tried the berry wontons, and they were equally amazing, adding a perfect sweet ending to the meal. The ambiance was also lovely, with warm amber lighting, candles on the tables, and a cozy, rustic feel with exposed brick and ceilings. Overall, the meal was amazing, and despite the slight delay in service, everything else was top-notch.

Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Atmosphere: 10/10 This was our first time visiting the Queen City, and we searched for our New Year’s Eve dinner spot via TikTok. The Cellar at Duckworth's kept coming up with great reviews—and they were absolutely right. Everything about this experience was perfect. The food was incredible, the drinks were delicious, and the atmosphere had the best speakeasy vibes. Our server (who looked like Sergeant James Doakes from Dexter 😄) was amazing—super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable, taking the time to explain everything we had questions about. This was the perfect spot for a New Year’s Eve dinner, and we would absolutely come back. Highly recommend!

I had one of the best dining experiences of my life at The Cellar at Duckworth’s. Everything about the evening was truly incredible, from the atmosphere to the service and almost all of the food. We started with the balsamic glazed Brussels sprouts with candied jalapeño bacon on flatbread, truffle mac & cheese with candied bacon, and the tuna tartare with wonton chips — every single appetizer was outstanding. The cocktails were just as impressive: the dirty martini, espresso martini, mule, and beer were all excellent. My friends and I each ordered the 14-oz ribeye. Unfortunately, the only disappointment of the night was my steak. I ordered mine medium-rare, while my friends ordered medium and medium-well. Surprisingly, my steak was noticeably less tender, colder, and lacked the same marbling and fat cap as theirs. Even after a replacement was brought out, it still didn’t quite match the quality of the ribeyes my friends received — both of which they said were the best steaks they’ve ever had. That said, I want to be very clear that the service was exceptional. The chef personally checked on me, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. Our server was kind, attentive, and wonderful throughout the entire experience, and I truly appreciated the care and effort shown. While my steak didn’t meet expectations for a $60 ribeye, everything else was truly top-tier. This was an unforgettable experience overall, and I would absolutely return. I’m confident this was an off moment in an otherwise outstanding restaurant.
