Inspired by the wood-fired Robata grills of Japan, Mizu offers a refreshed take on live-fire cooking atop the Hyatt Centric in the heart of Charlotte’s SouthPark neighborhood. Led by the award-winning Indigo Road Hospitality Group, the rooftop restaurant combines the traditions of ancient Japanese cooking with Southern influences and Asian flavors. The chef offers a seafood-focused menu composed of wood-fired, raw, and chilled offerings, sushi, and shareable plates. True to the word Mizu’s translation to ‘water’ in Japanese, the space’s design takes inspiration from natural elements, which are incorporated throughout the chic, minimalist restaurant, and outdoor terrace with sweeping city views.

We were looking forward to a great date night here- great views of Charlotte and had heard great things, but service took over 45 minutes for our server to see us to order a drink. Food came out slowly and then all at once. We tried a little bit of everything on the menu and nothing stood out. The manager did replace one of the items for us that had no flavor. Happy we tried it, but we'll spend that money somewhere else next time.

My wife and I have been coming to Mizu for some time now. I can honestly say it has become one of our favorite restaurants! Max, the GM, has been a gracious host and extremely accommodating. The service has been excellent and the food more than one can expect, especially given the seasonal rotation of the menu. We plan on continuing to enjoy the constant, and delicious, evolution of the experience. Well done!

Incredible food. We went for Valentines day and went back again to take my grandmother, both times we were blown away. The views of Southpark are very nice, the atmosphere is great, and you have to try the grilled oysters (we ended up getting a 2nd order for dessert)

I had such a beautiful time celebrating my birthday at this restaurant, from the food to the attention to detail making sure I had an extraordinary experience was tear jerking (seriously, I teared up a bit and felt so special). My server was amazing, the manager stopped by and took care of me and my mother and treated us to a few complimentary treats and I’m just so happy I had the opportunity to experience a restaurant like this. Every time I come to Charlotte I’ll be back!

When I say this was an experience I loved tremendously, I’m not exaggerating. My server, Julian, was phenomenal—attentive, friendly, and genuinely made the experience feel special. The manager, Max, was equally outstanding and made sure everything was perfect. I will definitely be coming back. The experience was truly a 10/10!
