Normally, I don’t have a problem with the store. It’s the one closest to me but the one and only time I’ve placed an online order they weren’t able to get something so they gave me a gift card. I thought that was great. I was fine with that. I go to use the gift card two months later there’s nothing on it🙃 so yeah pretty annoyed and no one can give me a new one apparently since the order was 2 months ago

Safety concern. 1/4/2025 - 9:30pm Moment I walked in, the security guard seem to have been stalking me. I ignored it at first, and focused on my shopping. But after a while, I noticed that he was over my shoulder in every aisle I was in. So I began to feel uncomfortable and couldn't focus on a single thought. So I turned to communicate with him, to ask him if he was following me, he ignored me through several attempts. Another customer who was standing nearby saw the situation and said 1 single word - he gave her full attention. She directed him to me, I was then able to ask him if he was following me. He looks me up and down and says, "Do you look like someone that needs to be followed?" In a violent tone, but I ignored that... at first. I turn my attention back to my shopping, browsing meats, onto fruits, onto vegetables. Guess who was there at every turn? That's right readers, the security guard. I got management involved and asked the man why the security guard was doing this. The manager told me to just keep on shopping. Solved nothing. The security guard was still stalking me around the store, but this time saying harassive things as I walked around. At check out he was still verbally abusing me, for some reason. I stole nothing paid for my stuff, yet he I was still in his crosshairs. Well, when I made it to my car, I was pretty stressed about the situation... so I made a conscious decision to break my sobriety tonight so I can calm my nerves. I went back into the store to get some beer. When I crossed paths with him, he immediately turned to follow me again. So this time, I ushered something peaceable. I asked him where the beer aisle was. He said he didn't know. So as I navigated myself to the beer aisle - threatening to beat my ass, calling me a pussy.. all of these unnecessary things to a customer just there to shop. I buy my beer, and he still feels the need to threaten me as I exit the store. There is something unstable about this man, and it needs to be brought to attention, lest he hurts someone.

I shop at Food Lion very frequently often every couple of days and I’ve always had great customer service at the Concord, NC locations. Because I couldn’t remember the phone number attached to my MVP card, I asked if I could use the store MVP card, something I am regularly allowed to do at other Food Lion stores with no issue. However, at the University location, the sales associate was very argumentative and insisted that customers are not allowed to use the store MVP card. I explained that I shop at Food Lion multiple times a week and do this often at other locations, but instead of calmly explaining or offering a solution, she became defensive and rude. I then asked to speak with a manager. The manager, Tierney was also unhelpful and repeatedly stated that it was “against policy,” continuing the argument rather than helping resolve the situation. What would have been far more appreciated is if someone had simply said, “Let’s get you signed up for an MVP card today,” instead of going back and forth. They eventually allowed it, but the attitude throughout the interaction made the experience very unpleasant. Unfortunately, because of the customer service at this location, I will not be returning here. I’ll continue shopping at other Food Lion stores where I’m treated with respect and courtesy.

One star for Rita treating like I’m a shoplifter while looking like one. I have no tolerance for this.
