We were staying at the hotel for our anniversary and made a reservation for dinner. It was just ok. I am gluten free and when I asked about the shrimp and grits the server said “grits are not gluten free”. They most definitely are - Generally shrimp and grits are or can be made GF…it’s one of my regular go to orders. I didn’t want to have a big hassle about the food on our anniversary so I ordered a steak (without the sauce because she said it had gluten), med well and it was bleeding. Everything else was good, but it just didn’t feel very special and services was mediocre. I probably wouldn’t come back because the server was not educated on gluten. The server told me she would mark my gluten allergy well because the kitchen doesn’t always pay attention. I expected better service and care for the price.

We went during a huge rain and wind storm for Sunday brunch after a wedding. First great point was valet parking, second was the beautiful restaurant sitting on the water, third outstanding service and finally great food, wonderful choices. I would love to go back again.

Very disappointed with our meal last night. We were there in August for my husbands birthday, and it was great, so I brought my son there last night. They changed their menu. No substitutions, so we had to pay 6.00 for mashed potatoes, because my son did not want succotash and risotto. My son’s grouper was so bland and small. My chicken dish, sitting on purée sweet potatoes, and something green and nasty on the top of the potatoes. It was not enjoyable, and I could hardly eat it. I decided to tell the waitress how we felt about the meals, and she felt bad and apparently went and told the kitchen, so they offered us a free dessert. My son got chocolate cake and I got spice cake. My son said the chocolate cake was the worst chocolate cake he’s ever had. My spice cake was OK. For what I paid for this dinner I was extremely disappointed. It’s such a pretty place, but they need to put their menu back to what it was over the summer and allow substitutions, and come up with a more pleasing Fall menu.
