I had high expectations as we were referred from a friend to come here for Valentine’s Day. We are from out of town. When we arrived we had to wait almost 20 mins for our reservation. We tried to get a drink at the bar while waiting and even after trying for a while were unable to get the attention of a bartender. They all were not very friendly. We ended up walking away. Finally we were able to sit at our table, and our food was great. (Nothing bad to say there) but it didn’t take 48 minutes to get a drink from our arrival. The place was not that busy, so we were very confused why things took so long. Finally we payed after spending over $500 dollars on dinner. We asked the hostess to take a picture of us (Valentine’s Day) and he rolled her eyes at us and “and seemed “ to not want to take a picture for us. It was late and she was not waiting to seat anyone. When we left the restaurant, my boyfriend and I look at yeah other and said “ can you believe that just happened.” It was so obvious.
Other than that great food (really was good, server GREAT) will not be returning due to the absolutely poor service. Really disappointed because I was so excited.

Our server Elise was engaging and friendly.
We shared the baby kale salad and the Pesto di Pollo pizza. Both were delicious!

We dined at Bargello during restaurant week - we had an early reservation Bargello in the Kimpton Hotel. Really nice space, decor is excellent, open kitchen. We were the third table seated and by the time we departed, every table was full. Most seemed to be enjoying the Prix Fixe menu.
Our server, Rachel, was wonderful. We decided to do the wine pairing. 4 wines for $25. They were half pours, and we shared the wine (driving home that night).
The Cava Brut was very refreshing. The Pinot Grigio went well with both first courses. We shared everything - more yumminess that way. Caesar salad is one of my fave. It is of course, a simple salad but if done badly it is awful. This was very delicious, though I did not like the croutons - they had a herb on them that did not enhance the Caesar. The Burrata was delicious! Fresh salad with Focaccia which was good.
Second Course - We had the Mafaldine Ragu which was really good. The Beef shortribs (boneless) were as good as mine. Sound braggadocios, but let me tell ya, I can make some mean shortribs. The polenta was perfect, the sauce excellent, Brussels on point. It made me wonder if they use Thomas Kellers recipe for braising.
The Sangiovese went perfectly with both dishes.
Dessert - Tiramisu is my absolute fave dessert. This one was okay. It lacked a bit of moisture - little light on depth of flavor. Of course I enjoyed it cause it is Tiramisu. The pumpkin seed brittle was delicious.
The pumpkin cheesecake was off the menu (for which we were happy, little too Thanksgiving-y). They served a turtle cheesecake - it was deconstructed and jolly good.
Now I adore a Sauterne and the one we had was so good. Sadly hubs also seems to adore a Sauterne - I had hoped to have it all to myself.
All staff were attentive - as I mentioned our server Rachel was excellent. We never felt rushed - it was attentive service.
We will definitely be back!

Enjoyed a late dinner here with friends. The table shared the grilled octopus, calamari, and kale salad (it’s big enough for 2-3 people), all of them were delicious! My Gypsy gal cocktail was refreshing and tart as well. My short rib entree was probably my least favorite. It was tender, but not as flavorful as I had hoped. I would opt for one of the pasta dishes if I were to visit again.
Service was great as well, our waitress was friendly, answered all of our questions, and made helpful recommendations.

We went there for my daughter's 20th birthday, it was a nice quiet evening. All of the workers were very polite and professional. They even put a birthday candle in the dessert.
