The Fountain on Locust is always fun! We have started a new tradition of ice cream martinis after afternoon concerts at the St. Louis Symphony. Today it was Mahler's 5th, and a Brandy Alexander for me and an Espresso Martini for my wife. The host and the server were excellent as usual. Thanks for a great day, SLSO and the Fountain on Locust!

I’m pretty overwhelmingly satisfied by the vibe, the service, and the food!
We came in on a Saturday night and we were sat almost immediately (7:45pm-ish).
Both my kids ate all of the food on their plates (if you have kids, you know this is a win). The kid’s sandwiches came with chips and fruit.
I had a St.Louis salad (adding chicken to the salad was my favorite part) and the dill pickle soup. The chicken was so good and perfectly cooked. The salad had the right proportion of dressing to mix-ins. The french onion sandwich was also fantastic flavors and fresh ingredients.

My daughters and I had an awesome lunch at The Fountain after a day at the STL Art Museum.
Our server, Andrew made us feel so comfortable, he was very good at describing the food and making suggestions. He reminded us all of Zoltan Kazas, the comedian! So lovable.
The food was awesome and we loved the theater atmosphere too! Definitely recommend if you have never tried it!

The ice cream was delicious. The food, not so much. My wife and I were surprised considering how well rated the restaurant is. The spinach artichoke did did not taste like either, just creamy with no real flavor, beef stroganoff soup was watery and did not taste like stroganoff. Billy goat chips were ok.

Disappointed. Sandwiches were mediocre (at best) and too expensive for what they were. Grilled cheese made on thin 10 cent bread slices from a bag…why??? Fig/ham grilled cheese was flat and unimpressive. Not much ham. I’ve made much better myself at home. Upgraded to side of pickle soup (good, but served warm not hot). The Gouda Apple sandwich was bigger and better. The sundaes were good, and the only thing I would suggest going for.
For 2 sandwiches + 2 sundaes and waters, cost seemed high for splitting between 4 people (and don't expect leftovers). Server was ok, annoyed at our request to change an item, did not ask how everything was, seemed to be in a hurry to get us in/out… just doing her job. Despite the fun interior/decor, would not go again. Felt like a tourist trap. Wished we had gone to anywhere else of the many great places to eat in St Louis instead, during our short visit (we enjoyed Italian in The Hill district much more).
