The family that owns this is fantastic! The food was great! I was nervous about what the portion sizes would provide but while eating my husband and I realized we couldn’t finish it all!! This is a great place for families! Ours enjoyed and will be back for sure!!! Also, they are black owned and family-run! How great!

Huge offset meat cooked by time by a true pit master. We stopped in for lunch unsure of what to expect but it was nearby the arch and our parking. It was fantastic kid had sloppy joes which he deemed “incredible” high praise from a Mac and cheese aficionado. We also got a brisket Philly and a chicken

*Edited to Respond to Owner I guess* Well I thought reviews are for personal opinion. I definitely didn't make the review to make you upset. Good thing I'm not in the food business to understand what exact pasta is typically used for mostaccioli, BUT you knew exactly what I meant... good job. You can literally see the 1 inch sq cuts of meat in the photo (not larger than anywhere I've ever been). As I ate, a couple were singed (burnt) on 1 side... heck it was only 8 small pcs. You can look at the rice & see its dry. Listen I was only making an observation. I live 20miles away & wanted to support, that's all. Yes I too wanted to experience the good taste I seen others posting about, but unfortunately I did not. I mentioned maybe it was a bad day, we all have them. IMO the professional response would have been to invite me back & offer a discount or an attmpt to make it right... not to come for me (a paying customer) because I felt I had an off experience. Many blessings to your business though.
Original Review: Wanted to support & see what all the hype has been about lately. So my friend picked up my order of a rib tip dinner & a brisket philly for my son. Rib tip sauce was 🔥 hands down, but the meat was only slightly tender & more tough & dry. The greens were undercooked & can definitely taste sugar 🚫, while the dirty rice taste like Zataran's out the box... dry. My son asked where did I grab his sandwich because it was dry, but the sauce was good. The bread was thick & took over the brisket. Now we had hope for the mac n cheese that was made with mostaccoli pasta, but 😮💨 my son mentioned it taste like powder, lol. Surely wasted $43+ on 2 plates to only be disappointed. Not to mention the sides were not full cups for the price & you only get 8 pcs of 1-2 inch (small) squared cuts of tips :(. Idk... maybe it was a bad day, but unfortunately, we probably will not be back.

Five Aces Deserves Five Stars
Wow! After visiting the St. Louis Arch we were strolling around looking for lunch. Stumbling upon Five Aces was the food highlight of our visit. A family run business (all the sons work along with their Mom, Dad & Aunt) showing incredible work ethic and service. They are passionate about their food from smoking on Antonio’s grand daddy’s spit to making sure every customer has what they need.
The food….order anything you like, it’s all delicious.
The restaurant is in an old late 1800’s building with little restoration, great vibe. They also have a food truck.
This is a great locally owned restaurant, hope you enjoy as much as we did!
