Dedicated to Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winning author and accomplished outdoorsman Ernest Hemingway; Hemingway’s décor features authentic photos and memorabilia including a snapshot of Hemingway on the deck of the Pilar where he landed the largest marlin to date in 1935 at 1175#. A lovely mahogany and marble bar formerly a San Francisco barber shop in the late 1800’s surrounds a 30,000 gallon saltwater aquarium overlooking the main dining room. The menu mirrors Papa’s appreciate of the great outdoors featuring signature dishes with duck, bison, catfish, and the ever popular alligator tail. Hemingway’s partners with local farmers and bakers for the freshest highest quality products and features all natural hormone free chicken, grass fed beef, and sustainable fish. We had gone to eat here specifically because we had a $100 gift card and at the end of our meal when they brought us the tab, when we handed our gift card to pay (which would have covered almost entirely the cost of our meals) they told us that their gift card machines were not working. Our waitress was not apologetic and did not offer anything to make us feel better. It was not en expense we were expecting to pay off of our card because we had the gift card. Had we known that our gift card would not be accepted, we would made other plans. It was disappointing for sure.

Very timely as well! Phenomenal appetizer, drinks, main course, and desert!! We HIGHLY recommend the fish and chips it’s the best fish and chips we’ve ever had!! 10/10 experience and definitely will be returning and recommending friends and family to come here!

I think they should focus on having a few more options and higher quality recipes. The meats weren’t good at all, reminded me of frozen food. The salad bar while good, wasn’t what it used to be either. Used to be so good.

The shrimp looked like it came out of a box from Walmart. Actually worse. The catfish was so fishy we couldn’t eat it (and we’re a seafood) family. We were so disappointed bc this is usually one of our favorite restaurants to treat the kids. We love the atmosphere but the food was just awful. And expensive!!! I’m willing to pay a pretty penny for good food but this was a pretty penny for awful food 😔
