  You wanna get some exercise and then fill up with some of the best bbq in Kansas City? This is the place. We went here for a birthday and each entree we ordered was delicious. We had the 3 meat platter with sausage, pork, ribs with sides of slaw and beans. One daughter got the salmon salad and the other got a char bar cheddar cheese steak sandwich. No complaints from anyone and the portions were big enough that we took some home. And, of course, we teamed up for pickle ball, all indoors on a rainy and stormy night. Nice vibes and great fun.

  New to Parkville area, decided to try Charbar for the first time. What a mistake, should have read the reviews. Horrible service, waited 25 minutes for a table while there were open tables. Ordered food and 2 drinks. Drinks arrived and that was all we received. Server came to table after 25 minutes and said our meals were close to being done. After an additional 20 minutes still no food. We noticed other tables were not getting their meals either. After asking for our check so we could go elsewhere, manager asked if we wanted our food boxed up. Do not understand if food was ready why box it up. Never tasted their food so can not comment on that. But I recommend going elsewhere for dining.

  Usually have a great experience here but tonight just wasn’t it. Food took over an hour to get to us, fried pickles were so sloppy and the pickles were not sticking to the batter and just falling out. The brisket was super tough. Only saving grace was the weather and my kids getting to run around outside in a fenced area. Our waitress was super nice and my cocktail I got was good, she did comp the fried pickles which was appreciated. Hoping tonight’s rough experience was just a one off.

  We were a party of 11 and it started off ok. We visited on a Sunday night and it wasn't overly busy. Food is overpriced for what you get. The sandwiches do not come with any sides. You have to order that separately. Our waiter took forever to come greet us. Not sure it was his fault. It seems he had to take care of too many tables. Our appetizers took forever to come out, like they were forgotten. So they ended up coming out with our meals. A dinner that should have been done in an hour took almost 2 hours. There didn't seem to be a lot of servers for the amount of people in the restaurant. Highly disappointed. And they said they had clean bathrooms, they were disgusting! The only good thing was the kids had fun playing the games.

  Recommended (!) for an upscale barbecue experience! The decorations are very cool & the fixtures over tables are creative repurposing of older materials. We had the Red Eye Donuts that looked like fried french toast sticks w/ a tasty vanilla bean custard sauce, Biscuits & Gravy (yummy), Crispy Potato Frittata (flavorful) & the Burnt End Benny (delicious & unique twist on eggs Benedict). If you like BBQ rub on everything, including the fried potatoes, then you will love the food here. Portions were large & table service was excellent. They also have outside seating, games, & inside & outside pickle ball courts.
