We LOVE Blue Sushi! This is our go-to place for happy hours and for when we just want to hang out and have food and drinks. Everything is freshly prepared and we have never had a bad experience here. The service is ALWAYS AMAZING! Allie and Raul are our favorites, and we make sure to ask for them if they are available! You will never be without with them, and they definitely bring the vibes! We know service is always going to be top notch when one of them are taking care of us!

I am often in dire need of a great sushi fix and BLUE is always my go to. In particular the downtown location has some of the best service I've ever experienced, especially RACHEL! Rachel is the sweetest bartender/server I've ever experienced. She makes me feel right at home and ensures that all my needs are met during my time. I legitimately go to Blue these days just to see her. Great location, great service, and the music is always a vibe. My favorite place in all of Kansas City to grab a roll or ten!

We been coming here for years (specifically the Kansas location) because this was the best place in kc for maki (what people refer to as sushi rolls). We genuinely were disappointed today though. As we were breaking down our experience we kinda just came to the conclusion it's basically it's still the same thing it just feels like it came from a box now. The easiest way to explain is before hands down you could taste the love and care that went into their food, now it's almost buffet quality in a lot of aspects. For example they no longer list where fish is sourced from. This is something people who care do because well... They care about the quality. Unfortunately after this visit I can say I can officially go almost anywhere else and pay less for the same lvl of experience. For example my seared tuna was paper thin and quite a bit more expensive however before it was normal sized cuts. I'm hoping it's just because the location is in power and light and normal people will just eat anything cause they think California rolls are fancy but again. If this is genuinely how they are now. WOW. that's sad to see them here vs when it seemed like care was involved. Service was amazing but for some reason service also halts after your like your second order, we were there for three hours basically just trying to consistently get our next order in. We're trying to spend money but it genuinely difficult. Respectfully we aren't trying to order everything at once. The charred edamame though is still just as good as it's always been though 👌 It just clicked in my head what I was saying about it tasting like it was from a box and they don't list where things are sourced from. It was good cause the ingredients being used were that good, now while the recipes are kinda the same (things have changed over the years slightly) the ingredients themselves taste like they basically come from Walmart now. THATS EXACTLY what I'm trying to say. The recipes are great though. Will be going to the Kansas location to give them another shot because I know they are able to do better, there's a reason Im such a die hard fan.

If I could give this place a ZERO star I would!! Horrible service. Both servers (males) who were upstairs (2nd floor) Sunday, were flat out bad. First off, it took 40 minutes for my crab rangoon to come out, finish my drink and had to walk to the bar and ask for a refill. Second, it took another 30 minutes for my sushi rolls to come out. Keep in mind, I didn't get an update from the servers about how much of delay there was. Third, the when my rolls came out, one was the wrong roll, it was raw and I don't eat raw. I ended up sick last night because of it. I am extremely pissed off how bad the service was, I WILL NEVER COME BACK!!!!!

My husband and I recently visited for the fourth time, and unfortunately this experience was very disappointing. We ordered drinks and crab rangoon, and it took 30–40 minutes just to receive our appetizer. We had already placed our entrée order at the same time, yet still waited another 40 minutes for our food. What made it more frustrating was seeing other tables who arrived after us receive their food much sooner. There was also no communication from our server about the delays, which would have at least helped manage expectations. We’ve tried to give this place multiple chances since we wanted it to be a regular date night spot, but after this experience, we won’t be returning.
