I’ve been going here since I was 10 years old. I’m 34. They recently changed their chicken and it is absolutely disgusting. I’m so disappointed.

From a longtime customer who wants you to succeed: I’ve eaten at Smokehouse for many years. It used to be the place we chose for special occasions, family gatherings, and moments that mattered. That wasn’t accidental, it was because the food felt consistent, comforting, and cared for. Over the past year, something has shifted. The flavors aren’t quite what they used to be. Dishes I’ve ordered since childhood don’t taste the same, and the experience no longer feels special in the way it once did. Nothing is “bad,” but the magic is gone, and that’s actually harder to say out loud than a complaint. What worries me isn’t a one-off meal. It’s that Smokehouse seems to be drifting away from the very things that made it loved in the first place: reliability, warmth, and the feeling that this was a place you could trust with to create or recreate a memory. When a restaurant loses its place as a “special occasion” spot like it has with us, customers don’t usually complain, they just quietly stop choosing it, as my parents and grandparents have. That’s what I don’t want to see happen here. That is why I am writing this. Smokehouse doesn’t need reinvention. It doesn’t need price shortcuts. It needs to be itself again, the place people once defended, recommended, and returned to without hesitation. I’m writing this because I want Smokehouse to be around for many more years. I hope someone in leadership reads feedback like this and understands that what’s being lost isn’t just customers.. it’s loyalty, ritual, and emotional connection. Those are impossible to rebuild once they’re gone, but not impossible if you listen early to the warning signs. I truly hope you do.
