Room 38 is Columbia, Missouri’s premier restaurant for dining, catering, nightlife, and special events. We offer a unique dining experience with a diverse selection of modern global cuisine and eclectic cocktails, featuring flavors for every palate.
We made brunch reservations two weeks before Easter. Arrived a couple minutes early. No wait for a table. However, either a server or hostess said we'd have a 60-90 minute wait for food. Well thanks for the honesty, at least. It's Easter, we're in from KC visiting our son, and it's an hour and a half to get food. We figured everywhere else would be packed and have no tables so we were preparing to eat fast food. Turns out Addison's was a 3 minute walk and had tables ready and waiting. Great food too!

Room 38 is one of those places in downtown Columbia that feels a little bit more elevated than your typical college spot, but still super approachable. It’s located right off Broadway and the inside has a darker, sophisticated vibe with a mix of bar seating and tables as well as a decent sized patio for seating. It is a perfect place for a date night or a nicer dinner and drinks with some friends.
I went for one of my friend’s birthday dinner’s we shared some appetizers, and some others got food. We all got a different drink as they have an extensive cocktail menu with a drink for everyone in the group whether it is rum, vodka, spicy, sweet, etc. The food came out in good time for the size of the group. There are many appetizers and small plate options. My favorites were the dumplings and spicy chicken queso dip, but the Nashville hot cauliflower was a group favorite. The prices are pretty on par for the quality and atmosphere. They also have a seasonal specials menu that is highlighted on their Instagram and menus in the restraint.
Something you would notice going in person is how friendly and welcoming the staff is. Everyone was attentive without being over the top, which made the whole experience feel more relaxed and enjoyable.
I will be back, especially for a nicer night out or some happy hour drinks at the bar. The bar is open pretty late every night and the kitchen stays open till 9 (usually). I’d recommend it for couples, friends/groups, or anyone looking for something a little more unique than the usual downtown options.

Four of us went to Room 38 for Easter Sunday Brunch. Thankful they take reservations as we got seated right away by a very nice hostess but our service was very weak! Everything came out slow (50 min.), cold, soggy, or rubbery. Server just responded with “I hate when that happens”…..😳

Came here for a reservation on Easter to see our daughter. . They only had 2 people working the kitchen. Upon arrival we were told the kitchen was behind and it would be a hour wait to get food. We have been here 2 hours at 4 pm our reservation was at 1 pm -still no food. They have offered nothing no crackers, bread, discount on food. Plenty of wait staff standing around. Who ever is the manager should be fired.
