Voted "The Best Overall Restaurant" in Branson, Missouri, our historic floating restaurant is located just off the shore of Lake Taneycomo on the famous White River of the Ozarks. Floor-to-ceiling glass offers dramatic views of this beautiful waterway; in fact, many of our guests arrive by boat, tying up on our pier to rest and enjoy a leisurely dinner and drinks. As the name suggests, fresh seafood is the focus here, with a range of delicious entrees from both fresh and saltwater—but the menu also features hearty steaks, chicken, and ribs, plus sandwiches and burgers. Celebrating the traditional flavors of the Ozark Mountains and our love of the water, the White River Fish House promises a unique and memorable dining experience for young and old alike.
Many customers reported that the food was overcooked, greasy, or lacked flavor, leading to disappointment.

We ordered a wide variety of appetizers. Spinach dip, Fried Pickles, Clam Chowder, Calamari & the Classic Sampler. We also tried to order the Ultimate Sampler but we were told it wasn't available. All the appetizers were great!
A few of the main entrees were good, which was the grilled trout and the Alfredo; however, most of our main entrees were very disappointing. We ordered shrimp scampi (very bland), 2 catfish platters (the fishy taste was so bad on one platter, it wasn’t eatable), World Famous fish sandwich(definitely didn’t taste good) mahi mahi taco’s(not fresh) and I can’t recall the other one. I understand that people have different palate, but offering some type of seasoning (Tony Chachere’s or Season All) should be available on each table.
We had a party of 10 adults and it wasn’t that busy on 1/1/26 around 8P. The waitress we had took forever to get our drink order. She obviously didn’t want to be there or was ready to call it a night. Once the main entrees were brought, she vanished for the most part. We were never asked if we wanted desserts or additional drinks from the bar.
The service was way below the mark for a restaurant of this size and located in a high traffic tourist area. I truly hope that our feedback and constructive criticism is addressed by management and that there’s a change to provide a better experience for future diners.
The restaurant itself was beautiful, nicely decorated and in a great location. It has a great layout and had a nice atmosphere.

First off, I was a little hesitant to go after reading some of the reviews but with its affiliation with Bass Pro, I figured it had to be somewhat good. I was wrong. Our cheese curds were like rubber, our fries came out cold but the burgers were good. Slightly over cooked but still good.
Our server was great and attentive. She was nice and personable.

We were seated immediately, but it took almost 20 minutes to get a waitress to even look at us. We sat next to the hostess Who was More interested in checking on us than our own waitress. The people behind us in line had a different waitress, and they had their food before we had even placed our order
We both had fish and chips, which I have had at this restaurant multiple times. When the food came out, the fish was burned and chewy like it was old The french fries tasted like they were heated up in a microwave and very chewy as well
I said no less than 10 times that I was disappointed In the service and in the food
I truly hope this was a one time experience because it has been so good in the Past

Two take aways #Fire the manager# and a previous review at this establishment said it perfectly " Tasted like dried up disappointment!"
Fish and chicken meals over cooked and nearly burned. We speculated the grease was old and despite the waiters offer to remake our meal to which we declined since we would likely end with the same burned meal and waste more food in doing so. The manager showed up at the end of our meal session and saw our half eat meal and acknowledged our suspicions of the old grease in the fryer and had we not started eating our food that a reconsideration of our bill would have been an option. We will not come again especially since 2 of us where locals of the area.

Let’s talk about the parking: absolutely terrible!
My wife and I both have dietary restrictions due to our Alpha-gal syndrome, so we were already on high alert.
Our waitress couldn’t have cared less about our concerns. Every time we asked questions about our food, she seemed annoyed and dismissive. After a lot of back and forth, we finally settled on a few options that we thought would be safe.
To add insult to injury, the food was outrageously priced and tasted mediocre at best. On top of that we spent the entire night battling diarrhea and stomach pains, and it was absolutely miserable.
I will never set foot in this restaurant again, and I’ll make sure to tell everyone I know just how terrible this place is. Avoid it at all costs!
