Not a sad, cardboard flavored apology like most GF options because this one actually understood the assignment. My wife said she’d drive 1,200 miles back just for that. The people? Midwest nice in its purest form. Friendly, welcoming, and absolutely unbothered by the subtle desperation in our eyes as we inhaled food before continuing our journey away from extended family gatherings. It wasn’t fancy.
