Service is pretty good and atmosphere is nice although it hasn't changed much in the last 20 years, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The food prices are not commensurate with the quality imo. We tried their sushi and while we weren't expecting a whole lot we were still disappointed. I've had good and bad experiences here and think for the prices charged there should be more consistency in food quality. Hit or miss ymmv.

Delicious food! All 6 of us had a great experience. The waitress was very knowledgeable and made great suggestions. Half of us ordered the special..appetizer (huge serving!), entrée, sushi.. so good! Nice that we were able to make reservation the day before (on new year's eve) and we're seated at our appointed time. Street parking was free because it was new year. There's also valet parking.

Good food. Chicken fried lobster could have used more honey and more hot sauce and less cornmeal in the breading. Blud crab pasta was delicious! Thought it would be busier for a Friday night. Downtown tax of 13.25% is interesting.

Had the most wonderful anniversary at Oceannaire! The filet mignon was better than top steakhouses downtown. Our server Phil was 10/10 - warm, attentive and knowledgeable. Absolutely recommend for a special night out!

We had a nice anniversary dinner here with no concern over cost. We focused on what we wanted to eat… seafood. We had some great food and wonderful drinks. The staff were great. What we didn’t expect…. Which was quite shocking…. Was the dress code. Apparently ripped jeans, stocking caps, t-shirts, hoodies, sweats… is the norm. Absolutely shocking given the fact their website has a dress code policy. I think it should be changed to “wear whatever you want.” We were hoping for something “classy”, instead it was more trashy. I was surprised I didn’t see a housecoat and slippers on a diner but hey, there’s next week, and it may just be normal by these standards. It is sad that restaurants have needed to allow anyone and everyone to roll in as if they were getting out of bed or just mowed the yard. I’m sure the rent is expensive and getting someone downtown has to be a challenge (especially in downtown Mpls) but clearly no dress code. Maybe they need the money this bad? Had we known we would not have gone here. I can’t imagine parenting going and having your children go with you to a nice restaurant wearing stocking caps, baseball caps, jeans and sweats. But then again when the parents are, and the grandparents too, well, it starts to make sense when you see this pattern. It is really sad to see things deteriorate much like downtown itself. I wonder if I could wear cutoff pants here? Probably, but it won’t matter because we won’t be back.
