Great fish! Shepard's pie looked amazing and my friend said it was. Seating was a bit of an issue, but we went during dinner hour.

The perfect place to eat on a rainy afternoon!!! Just like in actual Ireland, this is a great place to go alone if you want a cozy dinner for yourself or to go with friends if you’re wanting a great night out!! Staff is always wonderful and delightful to talk to!

This New Orleans native family approves of the fried fish!! Sooo good! Been kind of hard to find good fried fish in the area. Although it isn’t fried how it is in South Louisiana, it was still top tier ! Fresh .. the flavor was on point. The chowder was so warm and filling. And the beef burger was chefs kiss. Thumbs up 👍

We've been coming to the Anchor for at least 10 years, since not long after it opened, including when they had the tent outside due to Covid restrictions. The food has always been great - the best fish and chips (Irish/UK-style) that I've eaten in the US.
However, the new ordering/service style is horrible. Gone are the days of just waiting for a table (pre-Covid) or making a reservation (post-Covid) and being guaranteed seating on arrival. Gone also are having a server take the order at the table. And gone are the friendly servers who used to work here.
Now we have to line up at the podium under the (ugly) wall menu, order and pay (and pay a tip, even though no service has been given yet), and then: stand around until a table frees up, with no help (only attitude) from the serving staff, all while the food is presumably being cooked while we're still standing. When I asked if they could help us snag a table (there were 6 of us) I was told that was just up to us. I'm not sure what we'd do if we hadn't managed to get one; I suppose the food would have just sat there on the counter and gone cold.
My advice (and I know I'm not alone in saying this): scrap the stupid podium ordering/no help from servers/scramble for a table "system" that you've introduced (I'm told the owner wanted to do it - goodness knows why) and go back to the Irish pub vibes and system that makes sense. If not, I may get takeout from time to time, but I won't be returning to dine in.

A Craving Perfectly Met at The Anchor Fish & Chips
Yesterday, I followed a nostalgic craving for old-fashioned Fish & Chips—the kind Arthur Treacher’s used to serve back in the day. After a quick Google search, I landed on The Anchor Fish & Chips and decided to beat the dinner rush to see if it lived up to the name.
From the moment I walked in, I appreciated the streamlined setup: you order and pay first, which I’ve only seen at one other spot. It’s efficient and keeps things moving—especially helpful when the place gets busy.
Now, the food. Let me tell you: the Fish & Chips were exactly what I was craving. Crispy, golden batter, tender fish, and chips that held their own. I added their curry sauce—not just on the chips, but on the fish too—and it was a flavorful twist I didn’t expect to love so much. I missed the malt vinegar, but plain white vinegar did the trick just fine.
The service was warm and attentive, and the cooks clearly know their craft. It’s rare to find a place that hits the mark so precisely, and I left feeling satisfied, nostalgic, and grateful.
All in all, the service was great, the cooks were excellent, and I truly enjoyed my meal at this local mom & pop pub that knows exactly how to satisfy a classic craving. Highly recommend!
