Underwhelmed! The food was delicious, but my review has to do with our server tonight. I wish I could say he was warm and friendly, but it was the opposite. Any server who is wearing black latex gloves and carrying around a little machine to type your order in, I say run immediately! Not sure if he changed them all night. Our group was easy, we knew what we wanted. We had a few questions about drinks and asked what our server liked most, but no engagement. I wish I knew his name, but no introduction. We were slammed with water cups and plates, but that is all I received from him. I mean isn’t a standard to at least say hello? Our drinks were wonderful, food was delicious but it appears our server cared more about being on his phone and coordinating the DJ for the night. Our group has/is in the service industry and our server really put a damper on our first impressions. It was a birthday we were celebrating and we didn’t even mention till the end. We weren’t expecting anything at all, but a Happy Birthday goes a long way! We plan to be back because the food was really delicious, bout will avoid the gentleman server who doesn’t introduce himself.
Awesome experience at Salt and Flour in Downtown Minneapolis! The service was top-notch and the food absolutely delivered. Chef Garris and his crew do an amazing job — hands down the best margarita pizza in Minneapolis. The atmosphere is fun, the bar is fantastic, and it’s a great place to hang out with friends. Definitely worth checking out!

Had diavalo and fettuccine. Diavalo pasta was a little bit beyond el dented. The cook on the fettuccine was good but the shrimp was really salty. I think maybe brining was done because the shrimp in the diavalo wasn't as salty. The brusels were over cooked had to kinda sift through to get to the pieces that weren't over cooked. All in all the atmosphere was good food needed tweaks probably should've just got pizza that the others were getting

For a $200 date night, this was easily one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.
The lobster gnocchi was essentially garlic butter soup with gnocchi floating in it, and only two tiny pieces of lobster. Worse, it tasted almost entirely of garlic butter and salt. There was no depth, no balance, no complexity to the flavor — just a flat, overpowering heaviness that made it genuinely unpleasant to eat. My girlfriend ordered the wagyu bucatini, and it had the exact same issue — more like a watery, soupy mess than an actual pasta dish. Even worse, some of the noodles were still hard, which is inexcusable at this price point.
We also tried the octopus, which did have good flavor, but for $23 the portion was tiny and the presentation looked like something you’d expect at a dive bar, not a supposedly upscale restaurant. Honestly, the most satisfying thing we had all night was the side salad, which says everything.
The service didn’t help matters. Our server seemed very inexperienced, struggled to open a bottle of wine, and there wasn’t even a proper chiller available. The food took an unusually long time to arrive, and the overall pace of service was slow and disorganized. To top it off, near the end of our meal a bus person came up carrying a large tub full of dirty dishes and cleared our table into it, which completely killed whatever atmosphere they were trying to create.
For this price, the overall experience was nowhere close to acceptable. I could go to The Loop and get significantly better food, better service, and spend far less. Salt and Flour is simply not worth the price of the food or drinks, and I would not recommend it.
Our server was incredibly kind and warm. Truly inviting and lovely service. I wish I could say the same about Salt & Flour as a whole.
This restaurant is the end goal of gentrification. Soulless, bland, and uninspired. The wallpaper above the bar is AI art, it is a slap in the face to the local community to use AI to decorate such a large portion of your restaurant. Minneapolis is home to so many artists that could’ve created something beautiful there.
The only truly delicious food was the Brussels sprouts. The rest of the food was overpriced and middling at best.
