Was here for Sunday brunch to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We were a small party of 5 gals. The best part of the buffet style brunch were the desserts. The food was subpar for a higher end downtown Minneapolis restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel. None of the food stood out for flavor…. The service was disappointing for the cost of the brunch and the server only came to our table about 3 times, they took long in clearing the dirty plates from the table and had to ask the server a few times for drinks we had ordered. The atmosphere was the highlight of this dining experience. I don’t recommend this place if you’re looking to get a flavorful meal, but if you’re looking for an aesthetically appealing restaurant for pictures, then this is a great place for that

We stopped into the Mara Bar for drinks and food before a Guthrie performance. For a Wednesday night, the place was packed at 5:30, and we couldn't find an empty chair at the bar. With resignation, with settled in at a high top table in the lounge. My gloom lifted when two couples left for a dinner reservation, and our server helped us move to the bar. It was the right move. The bar at Mara is fantastic, beautiful, classy, and gives Minneapolis that urbane touch. The incomparable Pip, a bartender with the worldly affect of a bygone era, enhanced our experience. Not only were his cocktails perfect, but we also discussed music, philosophy, and topics usually reserved for the early 1930s Paris salon hosted by Alice B. Toklas and Gertrude Stein. The bar menu is a delight, featuring a diverse array of unique offerings. Mara's chicken wings are like no chicken wings you have ever tasted. They're amazing! My swordfish skewers were so good, I ordered another serving. I can be a pig, but I love delicious food. Our fries were done just the way I like. Prices are high, but you get what you pay for. The Mara Bar is a perfect venue for pre-theater or pre-concert sustenance. In fact, my wife and I will return to the Mara Bar this Saturday before a concert at Berlin. I know Pip will be bartending, and that takes the Mara Bar to a special place.

A beautiful restaurant with great service and an even better manager! While the host was extremely rude and dismissive upon arrival, the experience was completely salvaged by the amazing manager, Celice. She was so great and handled the situation with professionalism and grace. Celice made our time there beautiful, and we can't thank her enough for her exceptional care!

I still wouldn’t recommend this place at all. The hostess is very rude, and I’m still disappointed in how I was treated on my birthday when I went there! I was told that cameras and photos weren’t allowed, but I see so many people take photos on their camera, and nothing was said to them. But for me and my siblings, a lot was said, and the hostess and the manager, or whatever y'all call him, is very rude. This restaurant is very racist and Islamophobic , so if you're Muslim, please don’t go here; they're very rude to their customers; they're only nice to the non-Black people. Do better !

Lovely evening celebrating a 3 year anniversary a few years back. Had acceptional service from, I think his name was Ben. Took care of us the whole night and was very helpful with answering questions about the menu and great drink pairings to go with meals. Went back recently and he remembered me and had another wonderful time. Great restaurant experience 👌. Couldn't rececomend more highly.
