Horrific dining experience, hands down worst I’ve had in the past year and we go out to eat around the cities around twice a week on average. Service was abysmal, condescending, uninformative, inattentive, and at some points downright rude. Our server must have been adverse to using trays, because anytime we ordered beverages he’d carry three plus beers at once, resulting in him spilling on all our guests. Two shots and a can of Hamms (unopened) came in a claw-carry and more liquor got on me and the table than in my mouth. I sat more than ten minutes with an empty drink and water, eventually someone else, not our server, came and filled our waters. Anytime we tried to ask for something (share plates, refills, another beverage or napkins) the server just turned their back and walked away. I would have spent more money on top of the $400 we spent for a party of seven if the server was 10% more attentive. Food was bland and dry, my fries were a combination of ice cold, burned to hell, and somehow smelling like socks all at once. One of our guests received the wrong food and had to go catch our server at the bar pass to ask for a refire because he walked away when she tried to bring it up the first time. The menu has some hilarious typos too: “blackeneded chicken,” “bgarlick aoli,” “habenero,” “vinagrette,” “salad adds ons,” “boubon,” “blue cheese,” and more formatting errors than I can count. Did one person read this menu before sending it to print? My friend’s “Steak & Blue” sandwich was supposed to be pink, it was grey, with the tiniest amount of cheese. My “Luna Burger,” was dry in every single component from the meat (also grey) to the marmalade and aioli. I wouldn’t eat here if it were my last meal on earth. Also, the “Sweet Hear” burger, lol. All said- yikes. Do better.

I visited on a freezing Sunday night, and unfortunately, it felt colder inside than out. They were having issues with the heating, but the staff didn't inform us until after we had already ordered. We ended up eating with our coats and hats on, which was uncomfortable. The staff was very nice and brought out cups of hot water but it was still very uncomfortable inside. As for the menu, they have nice vegetarian options and the fries had good flavor, though they arrived at the table cold. The cocktails felt overpriced at $15 (before tax and tip). I see potential here, but I can't recommend it based on this experience. I might try again once the logistics are sorted out.

We sat at the bar at Luna & the Bear, intending to have a couple of drinks. While Luna is a neighborhood haunt, it was still packed at 6:00 PM on a Sunday, with diners eating at tables and booths. The bar was quiet, but with only two people working, the staff were running around because Luna's space is quite large. It's homey and attractive, but challenging for servers to navigate. Fortunately, a third person showed up to help, and that's when we began to enjoy ourselves. The charming Molly had time to talk with us and advise us about the menu. Our burger and fries were good, and we had a relaxing time. It was difficult to get a feel for Luna and the Bear, but I will return to get a vibe when the staff is less busy.
