I love Bucca downtown Minneapolis!! It’s such a sweet and cozy spot. Especially as we head into the winter months. Just have to give a shout out to my main man Henry tending bar there. His upbeat demeanor and stellar service keep me coming back again and again! Thank you Henry for all you do to make Bucca downtown the perfect escape from the outside world. 🙌🏆

Second time I've been here, both times having been served by Troy. Looking at previous reviews I was surprised to find overwhelmingly positive comments about him as his service was mostly the only thing I didn't like about my service both times. While the first time he was simply overtly aggressive with up-selling (and significantly less positive when it was obvious I was on a tight budget and was not flexible with my order,) I was even less impressed when I went there for dinner on my birthday.
He opened the interaction with an odd comment that he assumed me and my boyfriend (we're both gay men) were brother and sister, and the level of awkwardness never recovered. My boyfriend's menu also had a weird green spill on it that hadn't been cleaned, but that was much more the secondary issue.
In interest of being fair, he did comp us a free ice cream Sunday for my birthday, as the advertised free one only applied if you had registered with their rewards before the day of the birthday. He did so with the promise of leaving a positive Google review mentioning him, but it was nonetheless appreciated.
The other staff we engaged with (including the host) were wonderful and the food was fantastic, but he very much put a damper on the evening as a whole.

I am never a huge fan of going out to eat and having pasta because I like it cooked a certain way. It often seems to mushy in a restaurant, but of course this place really knows how to do it right! I still think that the flavors could use more pop, but it’s still a nice place to visit and fun dishes to try.
