I had a very bad experience here today. It was busy when we got there and the three workers (and maybe one on the grill) were doing their best to get people handled quickly. We ordered two small dipped cones and it took a bit to place our order. I just wish more places would acknowledge us while we were standing at the counter as it goes a long way for keeping us patient. This didn't happen.
When we did get waited on, Kim, the young lady did a great job. She had a good sense of humor and she was working hard to keep the customers happy.
We placed our order for two small dipped cones and waited. We watched them run out of vanilla ice cream and had to wait for them to replace the mix. They tossed out five cones as the machine wouldn't stop sputtering. I can live with that as it happens. I wonder why their machine doesn't have a continuous mix feature. Running out like that with people waiting is frustrating for all.
The young man that was trying to make a cone did his best. He got the first cherry dipped cone done and gave it to us. I gave the food a bad rating as it was smaller than normal--probably because of the ice cream machine issues.
The big problem came when the older man, I'm not sure if he's the owner or the manager, approached me and told me that he didn't have chocolate ice cream. I told him that I didn't order chocolate ice cream. I just wanted the same dipped cone that they just gave my wife, except dipped in chocolate.
He insisted, in front of a lot of customers, that I didn't order that and proceded to get pissy. He took the cone that he had for me and angrily tossed it in the garbage (6th wasted cone).
I asked him to talk to the girl that took our order. She confirmed my order. He didn't apologize for his crappy attitude or his mistake. The young man, trying as hard as he could, accidentally made a cherry dipped cone and had to toss that one as well for #7 in the garbage.
The young man handed me my cone, which was a bit larger than my wife's. Kim came by and whispered an apology for the older guy's actions. She was visibly embarassed for his actions.
Both younger employees seemed scared to be around him. Why do people work in a toxic environment like that? If he's the owner, he needs to fix things or the future won't be good. If not, he deserves a reprimand for this crappy customer service.
I wanted so bad to go back in and tell him off for embarassing me but there were a lot of customers there and I didn't want to stoop to his crappy level. Plus, I had just gone to church and I didn't want to be sinful.
I probably won't be going back here again--especially if he's involved with customer service. Grow up mister, this is why we have order numbers, and you have slips that show what we are to get. You can't tell me I ordered something I didn't and then proceed to make me feel bad. It isn't good!
Kudos to you Kim! Get a job somewhere else where they will appreciate your efforts. You don't need to put up with his crap.
Life is too short. If you are in the customer service business, do your best all the time, have a good attitude, and treat the customers like we pay your wages--as we do!

Slowest dq I have ever been too was the first order of the day and it took 20 minutes to get our 3 food items. And the burger we got had way too much mustard and pickles. This dq needs a new manager!

No longer offers pup cups…
“Per corporate, dogs can’t have dairy after puppy stage…”
Come on folks, at least make the lies believable.

I ordered a Pup Cup and Small Strawberry Shake. They no longer carry Pup Cups and my Strawberry Shake was like Strawberry Milk, very runny. Even though I asked for Whip Cream, I had to ask again after it was made. The staff was very polite, but I was very disappointing in the food quality. I stopped by since I visit my Mom occasionally at the nursing home, but I think I'll find another DQ to stop at on my way back to the Twin Cities.
