We’ve been going to The Hyderabad Indian Grill for a while now, and honestly, it’s one of those places you just keep coming back to.
Food-wise, it’s always on point. Flavorful, consistent, and the portions are really substantial. On top of that, it’s priced very well, honestly feels lower than market for the quality and amount you’re getting. Trust me, I have actually compared! You’re not leaving hungry, and you don’t feel like you overpaid.
But what really stands out to me is how the owner runs the place.
Every time we go in, he welcomes my family like we’ve known him forever. It’s not forced, it’s genuine. He checks in, makes sure everything’s right, and you can tell he actually cares.
One time we ordered a few dishes, and one just wasn’t up to his usual standard, maybe a newer chef or something - I mean we all have had this happen, we're all human. He asked how everything was, and we told him straight that it was a bit under his normal level. No attitude, no excuses, he asked us how so and then immediately remade it, and brought it out fresh, no charge plus a 15% discount. We made sure to leave a 40% tip because honestly you just don’t see that anymore.
And I say that because I literally dealt with the opposite last week. Ordered a meal from a small shop, clearly said what I wanted and did not want, got the wrong thing. Instead of owning it, that other businesses owner made excuses. When I brought it up again later, his son (the real? owner) laughed it off and told me, “thats how we do it, next time make sure you order it right.” That's the attitude you see sometimes. Plus we bough a food item from him that was packed but expired last year...we just ate the cost rather than deal with that owner ever again.
In any case, that right there is why places like this stand out.
They take responsibility, they care about the customer, and they do things the right way. Its when things are down do you see how a business truly handles itself. That is what sets him apart from many other placed.
He earned our business for life.
