I worked at a different caribou for years and never was told to charge for a water or that a customer had to purchase something to get a water. The worker who took our order was just snotty about it... The two baristas were nice however.

I have Type 1 diabetes. During my visit, my blood sugar was dropping, which constitutes a medical emergency that requires immediate action. I ordered a drink specifically to treat my low blood sugar. Despite this, I waited over 15 minutes while several customers who ordered after me received their drinks first. When I approached the counter to ask about my order, I was told to continue waiting. I then explicitly informed the staff that I was experiencing a medical emergency due to low blood sugar. Even after clearly communicating this, I was required to wait an additional 6–10 minutes. No urgency was shown, no assistance was offered, and no apology was given. This response was dismissive and unsafe. Untreated hypoglycemia can lead to loss of consciousness, seizures, or worse. Once a medical emergency was communicated, the lack of action and concern was alarming and unacceptable. I am requesting acknowledgment of this incident, an explanation for why my medical emergency was disregarded, and information on what steps will be taken to ensure staff are trained to appropriately respond when a customer communicates an urgent medical need.
