Really disappointed with my visit to Bojangles. The experience from start to finish felt disorganized and unprofessional. Several workers were sitting at tables eating while on the clock, which didn’t leave a great impression, especially while customers were waiting. When my order was finally called, it wasn’t even correct, and some of the drinks were missing. I had to wait a long time just to get what should have come with the meal in the first place. To make things worse, staff were yelling for customers to listen for their names, even though the restaurant was loud and crowded. Then after being told to come grab our trays ourselves, we were scolded for walking past the line to pick up the food they told us to get. Overall, it felt chaotic, poorly managed, and frustrating. I don’t expect perfection from fast food, but basic organization and respectful service shouldn’t be too much to ask.

We were pretty excited to try this place because we've heard about it for years from other people. To be straightforward, I don't think they were prepared for the opening like they should have been. The menu on the website for the company is not even close to what's available here. They don't regularly answer their phone when you call. You aren't able to currently order online for pickup or delivery. That right there makes it a pain in the butt. We were prepared for the long lines because any time anything new hits Grand Rapids, there's usually long lines for the first couple of weeks. We tried "Raising Canes" as well when they opened. We were disappointed with them because they don't use any seasoning on their chicken...it was meh....and not as good as the location in East Lansing..... So we had high hopes for Bojangles. We went the day after they opened. Aside from the long lines which they kept moving pretty quickly, we didn't find out till we got up to the spot where you order that they did not have a full menu. We ordered one of every breakfast sandwich so our family could try them. I will say that their breakfast tater rounds are hands down the best in the industry, phenomenal flavor. It's almost worth going just for those. The biscuits are ridiculously good, battery and flaky. The chicken biscuit it was hot, crunchy on the outside, moist and tender on the inside... A real winner! along with the sausage biscuit was definitely what made these the stars of the options. The steak sandwich was meh and honestly a bit disappointing. Positive attitude from staff, even though they were clearly slammed. Overall, a positive experience. So we decided to go back another time. 2nd visit. We again went for breakfast. Got the southern gravy biscuit combo, bacon egg and cheese biscuit, and four of the chicken biscuits. This time around, we got a large tater round for each of us. But it's really enough product in one large for 2 people. I even got the sweet tea which was pretty amazing. The gravy comes in a tiny styrofoam container with a plastic lid, not enough gravy to cover two biscuits. The flavor wasn't horrible but also nothing outstanding. My husband was good with the bacon, egg and cheese and said he probably would get it again. This is where things get funky. They had messed up our order. We did not want to hold up the line to check our food so we pulled over in the parking lot to make sure we had everything. We were glad we did because we were missing two items. We had to park in the parking lot and go in to get them to fix it. That was another pretty long wait. We had already gone all the way home before we started eating the food. Literally, every single chicken biscuit was raw in the center. 2 of them were cold in center. We were really upset by that for all the obvious reasons. We did call the restaurant and someone finally answered which was great. They offered no resolution, and we didn't ask. All they said was that they check the temperature of the chicken when they cook it. We let them know that these four got missed and offered to bring them back. They said they couldn't take them back. We told them we just wanted them to know that their chicken was raw and that could make someone sick and we wouldn't be able to eat the food we paid for. They weren't really rude, but they were very dismissive, and they said they had to go thanks for letting them know and they hung up. Obviously this was upsetting and it left us almost not going back at all. We figured to be fair. Maybe we should try the regular sandwiches or chicken strips in the afternoon or evening. However, after the raw chicken experience, I can't even lie, i am a bit nervous about it. However, the very first experience was fantastic and that was definitely my favorite... The chicken biscuit, the biscuits themselves, and the tater rounds. We will probably go again just to give it a fair shake. The partial menu is annoying. We were looking forward to being able to buy the family meals as opposed to individual sandwiches.

I am late in leaving this review, but I came in the day after the Grand Opening and was welcomed by all the sights and sounds, and smells I fondly remember from my time living in Charlotte, NC. The staff were rockstars and were patient, exceptionally kind, and polite. This made the experience even better as the restaurant was absolutely humming and so busy, yet the staff didn't rush my order and were profoundly polite and professional. not only polite to me, but I also noticed how respectful the staff was too eachother. When you go in, you have to check out the biscuit-making theater. After asking, the staff posed and smiled for a picture for me. As for the food, it came out hot and fresh, and the order was accurate with zero mistakes. Being there with the staff and the aromas made me feel like I was back in Charlotte and also reminded me of being back in the south. The manager even honored my online-only free chicken sandwich for joining the app, because online ordering was down that day. I am so glad Bojangles has made it to West Michigan, and I will definitely be back! IT'S BO TIME!!!

As a first-time Bojangles customer, let me just say this: I was not ready. I walked in curious. I walked out converted. The chicken? Crispy like it was blessed directly in the fryer. Juicy on the inside, seasoned with the kind of confidence that says, “Yeah, we know what we’re doing.” The biscuits deserve their own sermon—golden, buttery, flaky miracles that could bring a grown adult to silence mid-bite. And then… the legendary iced tea. Listen. I don’t say this lightly. That iced tea isn’t just a beverage—it’s an experience. Smooth, bold, perfectly sweetened. Cold in a way that feels intentional. If the water Jesus walked on represented faith, purity, and divine power, Bojangles’ iced tea represents what happens after the miracle—when you sit down, take a sip, and realize life is actually pretty good. I’m not saying it’s holy water… but I did feel spiritually refreshed. Service was fast, friendly, and welcoming—exactly what you want when you’re being initiated into something this powerful. Everything came out hot, fresh, and like it was made specifically for me. Bottom line: Bojangles didn’t just make a good first impression—they made a believer. I came in hungry. I left enlightened. I’ll be back. 🙌🍗🥤

I love Bojangles, so I was genuinely excited to hear that the first Michigan location was opening near my house. Unfortunately, this experience didn’t live up to what Bojangles is known for in the South. When other southern chains like Chick-fil-A, Raising Cane’s, and Cracker Barrel opened their first Midwest locations, they came in strong with full menus, well-trained staff, and a clear sense of pride. This location didn’t feel like that. Bojangles is a brand that’s closely tied to southern hospitality, friendliness, and consistency, and that just didn’t translate here. To be fair, the Bojangles executives who were present on opening day were fantastic — very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They absolutely embodied the southern hospitality the brand is known for. The issues came from the rest of the experience. Our order had multiple problems right out of the gate. The chicken biscuit was tough and rubbery, the fries were cold, and our iced teas came without ice. We were also missing our boberry biscuits and sauces, and we didn’t even receive our drinks initially — we had to ask for them. When we brought these issues up to a team member, there wasn’t much response. It wasn’t until a manager stepped in and asked if we needed anything that the situation was resolved, and once he got involved, everything was fixed immediately. After that, the food was fresh, the tea had ice, and things improved noticeably. The tea tasted just as good as it does down south, and the biscuits were great — those still hold up. That said, there’s a bigger issue here that’s clearly above the local staff: the menu. Not having bone-in chicken and other staple items is a major miss. Bone-in chicken is one of Bojangles’ biggest differentiators, especially compared to places like Chick-fil-A. Without it, you’re competing directly with Cane’s (which is already nearby), Popeyes, and KFC — all within minutes of this location. I understand there may be supply chain challenges bringing everything up to Michigan, but if you’re able to get most of the product here, it’s hard to understand why key items like bone-in chicken, sweet potato pie, and other classic sides are missing. If the menu is limited, the execution has to be flawless — and rubbery chicken and cold fries just don’t cut it. Overall, between the stripped-down menu, inconsistent food quality, and less-than-attentive service, this was a disappointing first visit. I’ll give it one more try this afternoon, but if the experience is similar, I’ll probably just wait until I’m back down south to enjoy Bojangles the way it’s meant to be. Update: I went back to give this place one more chance, and it was somehow worse. When I arrived, there was a sign saying the dining room would reopen at 2:00 PM for cleaning. I waited until 2:00, then was told it wouldn’t actually open until 3:30. Meanwhile, the drive-thru line was already backing up into the street. I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes in the drive-thru. While sitting in line, I watched three employees take out the trash together and remain outside (smoking) for a long stretch while the line barely moved. The window experience was awful: no eye contact, no greeting, just my total, card taken, window shut. It was lifeless and rude by any fast-food standard. I’m not expecting Chick-fil-A, but this was unacceptable. I was missing sauces and desserts, my fries were half-filled, and all of the chicken was completely cold. When inside getting my order fixed, most of the employees were standing around doing absolutely nothing. Michael, was great though, being the only genuinely helpful person. The replacement fries were fresh, at least. Even after all that, chicken was still tough an cold, the mac and cheese was mushy, and nothing tasted right. I won’t be returning to this location again, aside from maybe sweet tea. This isn’t anger, it’s disappointment. I know how good Bojangles can be, and this location does not reflect the brand at all.
