  I must be getting older, because dropping $25–$30 on a plate of food feels a bit steep these days. But that’s the world we’re in now, so expect those prices, especially for steak or seafood. That said, the food itself doesn’t really stand out compared to other steakhouses. What does stand out is the waitstaff, they’re truly excellent. Honestly, if the service weren’t as good as it is, I’d probably choose one of the nearby competitors instead. One thing that consistently disappoints me is the salads. For the price, you’d expect something with a little more flair and flavor, but they fall pretty flat. Other than that, there’s nothing on the menu I’d warn people away from. My wife absolutely loves the chicken and says it’s some of the best she’s ever had, and she’s had plenty to compare it to. I do wish they had more pasta options. They offer a few, but the selection is pretty limited. The restaurant itself is clean, safe, and welcoming. Service is friendly, though a bit slower paced, likely due to smaller staffing like many places these days. Overall, it’s still a solid spot for a date night, special occasion, or taking the family out.

  We did a pick up order that was done to perfection! The order was complete quickly and before the estimated time. Pick up was easy! Just pull into the designated spot and let them know you’ve arrived.

  My son and I usually order the Queensland chicken and shrimp. It was really good back then. I'm not sure if they're under new management, but this particular dish is absolutely horrible!! And we've given them three chances to get It right. I ordered two dinners yesterday and I'm telling y'all, even after I tried doctoring it up it was still inedible! I thought I was going to throw up. At one point I even questioned if what I was eating was real chicken!! It was totally tasteless!!!! Nothing like it used to be! And talk about cheap shrimp!!! That's a whole different story! I really think that they've got kids back there trying to cook or some really poor chefs! Sheesh! 🙄 Well, my son and I will not be ordering from Southgates Outback again. That was $50+ bucks down the drain!! Yuck! 🤢

  Kylie was our waitress tonight and the service was amazing. From the time we checked in with the hostess, everyone was very friendly. This was our first visit to the Southgate location and y’all did not disappoint!! Thank you for the amazing service and we look forward to coming back.
