Absolutely delicious! This was our first experience at Grains Indian Cuisine, and it did not disappoint! My husband and I are both vegetarians, so to have 10+ menu items to choose from was AMAZING. Bhature bread was incredible and so fluffy, and both of the paneers we got were very, very good. We will definitely be back! ♥️

Lemme tell you, the food I had from Grains was so delicious that it was almost a religious experience. I've had Indian food all over the U.S., and, until now, the best I'd ever had was at a restaurant in New York. I had the amritsari fish and the chicken saag with garlic naan. I had never had amritsari fish, so I didn't know what to expect. It was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender & flavorful on the inside. The chicken saag was also wonderful. The chicken was tender and the dish had the perfect amount of heat. I requested a mild spice level, and it was, but it was far from bland. And the garlic naan was made with fresh garlic and was fresh out of the tandoor, so it was hot and fluffy. One order of each was enough for me to have leftovers twice, so it was well worth the price.
There was a mixup with my online order (O ordered carryout), but it was not the restaurant's fault. Nevertheless, they gave me a complimentary dessert with my order.
I made the mistake of letting my nephew taste the chicken saag, and he loved it! Now I'll have to get an order for him whenever I get some for myself. Each order is more than enough for two people, but this food is so good that I don't want to share. I would hate to have to fight him over this food, but I will if I have to.
Because I ordered carryout, I did not sit at a table, but I could see the entire dining area, and it is beautiful. The lighting is soothing and the music was relaxing but contemporary. Whoever designed the interior did a great job. The bar is lovely and fully stocked.
I will definitely go back to Grains. The food was so good that I wanted to roll on my floor and giggle, but I didn't want to stop eating to do that. If you like Indian food or if you'd like to try it, go to Grains. Somebody in that kitchen has skills, and the service is as good as the food.

We ordered take-out Pani Puri, Aloo Gobi, Malai Kofta with Garlic Naan, a Mango shake and had Gulab Jamun for dessert. It all tasted incredible! Didn't wait too long for ordering at peak dinner time on Friday night. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is warm, relaxed and clean. Excited to sit down for a meal here with friends. A great locally owned option on the west side!

The best Indian restaurant in the Lansing area!
I got to enjoy this place twice in one week, once with my family, and another time with my girlfriend and some friends, and everyone left full and happy.
The first time I had the curry goat, and the second time I had the lamb rogan josh. Both were absolutely outstanding and perfectly cooked, and the portions were quite generous. My girlfriend had the aloo gobi which had a deep rich flavor without being overly heavy with sauce. The gobi manchurian appetizer was also to die for!
The food is high quality and incredibly well seasoned, not just with generic spice mixes. I am also a big fan of spicy food and was pleasantly surprised at how strong the 'Indian spicy' level was. But they were also able to make food medium or mild according to each guests tastes, without sacrificing overall flavor.
The servers are incredibly friendly, and not overbearing at all which is a hard balance to strike. I loved the lighting inside and also was very happy to see that you could also get alcoholic drinks with our meal, which you don't usually see in local Indian places.
Everyone should check this place out. It's great if you're already a fan of Indian food, and also the perfect place to take people who wish to try it for the first time. I can't wait to go back again.
