Customer service needs serious improvement. Staff were laughing during my order like it was a joke. Not respectful at all

I really enjoy Tropical Smoothie overall, and I’ve visited multiple locations across different states. Unfortunately, this location reflects an issue I’ve experienced elsewhere as well.
The biggest problem is the excessive amount of ice in the smoothies. There is clearly a measurement chart posted near the ice, which makes me question whether employees are being properly trained—or if there’s any oversight to ensure consistency. Even when I specifically request light ice (which should be about 2 cups), I consistently see 3 cups added. In many cases, I’ve watched employees use up to 4 cups.
This directly affects the quality of the product. Too much ice dilutes the flavor and reduces the nutritional value. For example, I add pea protein to my smoothie, expecting 15–20g per scoop, yet the blender is often still half full after pouring, which suggests both wasted product and an inaccurate final serving. Customers are not getting what they’re paying for.
It also seems like there is a high turnover of young employees at this location, which may contribute to the inconsistency. A more standardized training system—perhaps even something simple like a short instructional video—could really help ensure every employee prepares drinks correctly.
That said, the location itself is clean and well maintained, and most employees are friendly. With better training and consistency, this place could easily match the quality the brand is known for.I really enjoy Tropical Smoothie overall, and I’ve visited multiple locations across different states. I’m giving it 1 star in hopes that it will draw attention to finally fix this issue.

Ordered two bahama mamas yesterday around 1-1:30pm, one for me and one for my 3 year old daughter. Substituted one of them strawberries for blueberries. Paid with a gift card not from tropical smoothie, selected the lowest gratuity tip when paying with the card. The total was $14.78, plus with the tip the total would have been about $17.14 give or take a few cents. She asked me if I wanted the receipt I told her no that’s OK. Check my gift card balance today and she charged me $21.62. She gave herself almost a $7 tip. I don’t live in that area, but I’d be willing to drive back up there to identify her if the cameras can’t already do that. The audacity to think that it’s OK to sit there and do that to people is beyond me, especially at this location you would think it would have better employees. I’m contacting corporate today this is completely unacceptable. And it’s not even just about the money. It’s the principal why people think they’re entitled to just go ahead and tip themselves however, much on your dime. I’m already paying $15 for two overpriced smoothies the fact that she felt entitled enough to go ahead and charge my card for however much she wanted should be an inclination This isn’t someone you want working in your establishment with that kind of handle over other people’s personal information like credit cards. This is the exact reason I don’t like using any cards when I go to places because of people like this, thieves. The woman was blonde early 20s maybe, she was working the front.
