  We recently dined at Pastaio Handmade Pasta in Grosse Pointe, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! The star of the meal was the short rib ragú, which was simply unforgettable. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the rich, tender short rib ragú had layers of deep, comforting flavors. You can truly taste the care and passion in every bite. To top it off, we enjoyed their tiramisu, which was the ideal balance of creamy and light, with just the right amount of espresso flavor. It was the perfect sweet note to end the meal. The service was exceptional. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable about the menu, and eager to make recommendations that perfectly suited our tastes. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a cozy yet elevated dining experience. If you’re a pasta lover or just appreciate exceptional Italian cuisine, Pastaio Handmade Pasta is a must-visit in Grosse Pointe. We can’t wait to return!

  Saturday night for 2 covers. Environment is a little noisy near the bar so not a quiet place for dinner but still a really nice experience. Despite Jaime having her hands full with several busy tables, Alex and Weston pitched in and it was great to see the staff supporting each other. Best Italian style meatballs I've had at a restaurant, hands down. Detail given to the Calamari was much appreciated - cooked until just lightly golden brown, not the anemic, pale coloring with a wet crust served at other places. Pasta was clearly handmade and cooked al dente to perfection. The veal Parm is sat against a pile of sauced spaghetti and the breading gets a little gummy on the bottom as a result but seasoning is spot on. Kale Caesar is a great take on a classic with a great texture and flavor. Carbonara presented with a raw egg yolk nestled in the pasta nest you want to quickly mix in. Amazing flavor and texture. A little pricey but can't imagine what the rent is for the location. Plan to support with future visits.
